Point Loma/La Playa Beach Cottage.
The La Playa area of San Diego is unique for its' stunning views of downtown San Diego, the harbor, and the ocean. Our cottage has all three views. You can see the cruise ships tied at anchor by downtown piers, then follow them as they head out to sea and disappear over the horizon...all from your living room windows. Navy ships and sailboats provide constant entertainment during the daytime, at night the lights are spectacular. LaPlaya is also known for its' old mansions and lovely homes...it was one of the earlier settled areas in San Diego and you will enjoy this bit of history as you walk its' hillsides.
The airport, and visitor destinations such as the zoo, SeaWorld, Seaport Village, the Convention center, Fashion Valley shopping and Horton Plaza downtown shopping are just 5-15 minutes away by car. The antique shops of Ocean Beach are right over the hill.
PERFECT FOR TWO FAMILIES, with upstairs kitchen and downstairs "wetbar", upstairs/downstairs baths, and upstairs/downstairs laundries, bedroom and living room.
INCREDIBLE VIEWS from every room and deck. My very favorite is watching the sun come up behind the city skyline, as the world goes from black to ink blue, then a line of pink bhind the Coronado bridge over the mountains, then yellow with the sun. The harbor is satin and still, but with the sun the night lights go off and boats begin to leave a trail across the stillness. You greet the day personally, uniquely.
There is a Caribbean like beach just blocks away for swimming, sun bathing and family fun. Just down the hill, two blocks away, is San Diego's best run/walk trail along the bay. Walk to the village, shops, and restaurants. Kayak in the harbor. Or just sit on the deck in the shade of the trees and watch the world go by.
The house itself is really a cottage. It is one of the original cottages in the area, not fancy, but very cute and cozy, with decks and trees and adirondack chairs. There is a king bed downstairs, and a double sofa bed. Upstairs has a queen and twin. We can have a maximum of seven guests but prefer less. And we are sorry, we love pups but cannot invite them to visit.
Come and stay for a vacation you will never forget! San Diego will forever be remembered by views of the city and ocean, smells of salt air and gentle ocean breezes.
