Dear Don & Diana, After 10 years living in the U.S. (Chicago) our dream finally came true. This was our first trip to Hawaii and we started it here on Kauai and your beautiful cottage...it was the best! place we have spent our vacation EVER. This is a paradise, private, calm, relaxing...gorgeous!!! Sissy is the sweetest dog. If only we could stay longer! Everything here was unbelievable, unforgettable and so much more than we thoughts gonna be...Thank you so so much for everything. It was a pleasure meeting you both. We really hope to come back. Kauai is the place. We will miss it so much...thank you again. PS. The kitchen rocks!!!

It was fortune that our original rental fell through. The adage about silver linings is true. This home provided a very magical and surreal place to spend time in Kauai. We truly feel like we got away from it all and enjoyed an experience unobtainable in Chicago. Chickens, starry nights, Toby and geckos all will be missed greatly. And the quiet dark nights…we enjoyed both Kauai in general, and our home in particular.

ALOHA DIANA, AS ALLYN AND I REFLECT ON OUR VISIT TO KAUAI FOR OUR DAUGHTERS WEDDING, THE WARMEST AND MOST COMFORTABLE TIMES WERE OUR TIMES WITH FAMILY AND FRIENDS AT THE COTTAGE. AS I DISCUSSED WITH YOU, PEOPLE STAYED IN A VAST ARRAY OF EXTRAVAGANT RESORTS, CONDOS AND PRIVATE HOMES FROM PRINCEVILLE, HANALEI, ANAHOLA AND PO'IPU. EVERYONE WAS ENVIOUS OF THE SELECTION ALLYN AND I HAD MADE OF YOUR COTTAGE FOR OUR STAY. ALL WANTED TO CONGREGATE WITH US FOR COOKOUTS, COCKTAILS, COCKTAILS, COCKTAILS ETC. THE PLEASURE OF BEING YOUR GUESTS IN JANUARY 2010 HAS BEEN OURS!!! WE LOOK FORWARD TO BEING YOUR GUESTS AGAIN. MAHALO AGAIN! DAVID & ALLYN

We had a great time on Kauai, in no small part to your beautiful house and location. Anahola was a great place from which to explore the island - we were able to hike in Waimea Canyon, make it to Polihale Beach for sunset and spend a (very wet) day exploring the museum in Lihu'e. Our favorite times, though, were just relaxing at your spot and making the small trek down to the Anahola beach.

It's hard to believe that it has been a month since we stayed in your beautiful home. I want to take the time to thank you so much for sharing your lovely homes with my family for our wedding week. Each person loved the house they stayed in, and the location was perfect for the family feel that we were looking for in our welcome party. Everyone loved your coconut soap in their welcome bags. And I really loved my peaceful walk amongst the plumeria the morning of the wedding and picking just the right flower for my hair. Most of all thank you for your words of wisdom the day I arrived: let go and don't get wrapped up in the details. I took those words to heart and was amazed at how the week unfolded itself in beauty. My only regret is that I did not get to meet you in person (Chris and I were at Auntie Angeline's). There is talk that if folks go back they want to stay Mahinani's Retreat :)
