Our family used this lake house as a central gathering point last year. With 7 kids under 9 yrs old, the spacious upper bedroom was a perfect "bunkhouse" for them. The kitchen area allows enough space for the whole group to participate in preparation and everything was clean, and well appointed throughout. The star of the property however is the patio and lake access. What a gorgeous lake that is well suited to skiing, wakeboarding, and boating. The glass smooth surface was a welcome site every morning for a canoe or kayak trip and the cooperative fish under and around the dock kept even the most impatient young anglers entertained throughout our stay. This is exactly what a lake house retreat should be and worked perfectly for our group of 15.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway.

We stayed at this beautiful Birch Lake home for a week in July, 2010 and had a wonderful time. (Sorry for the tardiness of this review!) It is a beautiful home with a great lay-out that worked out well for our group of 14. We could all be in the kitchen/dining/living room area and still feel like we had room to spread out. The kitchen has all the comforts of home and was very clean with everything in good, working condition. Margaret was very accomodating and helpful to us. The house was very easy for our older parents to get in and out of and was very comfortable for them as well. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, people with disabilities.

About the owner: We hope you will love this house as much as we have. It was our year round home until we had to relocate for work. Birch lake is a wonderful place to live and visit. This house is a wonderful place to entertain with a huge open living room/dinning room/kitchen with great lake views. We have enjoyed many wonderful times hosting groups of people at the lake. We have fond memories of serving snacks and meals to our son's friends sitting at the kitchen bar. We come back as often as we can.
Why the Owner Chose Birch Lake:
I grew up with my parents having a cottage on Birch Lake and I spent every summer swimming, skiing, sailing, and laying in the sun. Naturally I never wanted to leave. Birch lake is a special place with crystal clear deep spring fed water. Eventually my husband and I decided to buy a year-round home here and our 2 boys enjoyed much the same idyllic summers.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
We love to enjoy the sunsets, entertain friends and family, lay in the sun, swim, boat, and fish off the dock, and take long walks around the lake. It was a great place to live year round because you can cross country ski and ice skate on the lake when it freezes, there is a county park with groomed cross country trails less than a mile away and a downhill ski resort 10 minutes away.
