Our huge two-bedroom top floor corner unit #202 has a sweeping view of the ocean overlooking Cove Park which is where all the Surfers and Kayakers go in South Kihei. Our particular condominium unit is consistently voted as having "Best Views among all the units on the Property". Not all two-bedroom units at The Shores of Maui are situated directly across the street from the ocean like ours is, where the water is visible from the kitchen, living room, lanai, and both bedroom windows.
From our lanai overlooking the waves, you can lounge and watch local surfers and students being taught to surf, where the ocean is approximately 50 feet from the unit. This location provides an easy walk to a small beach across the street, as well as the Charlie Young Beach, a 5 minute walk away along with the gorgeous Kamaole Beach beach about two blocks away, plus grocery stores, shopping and restaurants. A complete view of the entire pool, hot tub, and BBQ area is available from the living room window and one of the bedrooms.
Whales are commonly in the area, you can view them right from our lanai. If there are kayaks and sail boats at play you can see them as they pass by. You can see clear unobstructed views of the islands of Lanai, Kahoolawe, and the famous Molokini Crater dive spot. Most days, views of Maui's volcano Haleakala, Up-country, and the West Maui mountains are visible from lanai or living room windows.
Our unit is very comfortable and provides plenty of room for you and your children or for two sets of couples who would like to share one unit. Everything you need for a carefree stay is in here in our condo...a full set of cooking facilities, beach towels, beach gear, linens, etc. Our rental agent is located onsite for your convenience. We knew from the first time we saw this condominium unit that this would be as near to paradise as one could get and a perfect place to retire, yet still be able to stay as busy as we wanted to be. There is always something to do on Maui if you want to, or just plenty of great weather to enjoy while laying around the pool or beach.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo
The nearly perfect weather on Maui makes virtually every visit enjoyable, especially if you are living in snow country on the mainland and look forward to the sunny days and cool nights here on Maui. The small town atmosphere of Kihei is always a change of pace from the hustle of the inner city life on the mainland. People are very laid back here and easy going, friendly and easy to deal with. No stress No Worries seems to be the unwritten way of life here.

We visited Maui with my parents and our family of 5 over New Years. The Shores of Maui #202 is a wonderful place to stay. Spectacular ocean view & close to numerous beaches, activities (luau, snorkeling, surfing), stores, urgent care. The condo has everything you need; beach gear (towels, chairs, cooler, body boards, sand toys, snorkel gear), washer/dryer in the unit, plenty of dishes & cookware, swimming pool, grills & gorgeous sunsets every night. 202 is large enough that our party of 7 never felt cramped. With the 2 futons in the LR, the kids didn't even have to sleep together. A couple blankets might be nice, but we made due with extra sheets. We grilled almost every night and never had any issues with having to wait long periods for a grill. The Shores complex itself is very well cared for and people were very friendly & helpful. Linda was great about answering questions prior to our stay. The only drawback would be being located on a busy road, but the noise was similar to the waves (can't complain about that) & it was easy crossing at any crosswalk. I would definitely recommend this unit to anyone. I don't think you can beat the view from this unit anywhere else.

We just got back home from another wonderful stay in 202, and couldn't wait to book it again for next year. We are pleased to see you now are on VRBO! We have been to the Shores of Maui many times now and among all of the condos we have stayed in, 202 is our favorite. After having stayed in other units there over the years, we now know that 202 is the best two bedroom unit and so we ask for that one every year. It is by far the best one among all others at Shores of Maui because it is a large corner unit which faces both the ocean one one side and the pool on the other...best of both views! (Some of the other two bedroom units there only face the pool or the neighboring condos, kind of a letdown when we were hoping for an ocean view like your 202 has.) With the lanai and huge windows in this condo, even if we don't feel like going to the beach every day, we still feel like we are right there surrounded by all the surfing action we can see right off the lanai or out the windows. This condo also has a unique hand-finished lofted ceiling and Hawaiian decor which gives it that island charm we enjoy. We like the upscale granite countertops too, especially the bartop out on the lanai great for making drinks! Of all the units at "The Shores", we recommend this one above all others, we only wish it weren't so popular because sometimes 202 is already booked when we waited too late. That's why we wish we could keep this unit a secret for just ourselves to enjoy, but apparently the word is out and so we don't mind recommending it as the best for other families to enjoy. "202 is our FAVORITE" condo! Alohas!
