I was very disappointed in the 2 hours to clean the kitchen and refrigerator upon arrival and no air conditioning units and realizing that this house is really a misleading advertisement. The pool is beautiful and the owner offered to come to the house after I complained when arriving about the air and the grease and trash that we had to clean, instead of making him drive from NJ he offered to refund $100 in addition to our deposit. Well, took 1 month to get the deposit and several emails and phone calls and of course no additional refund. We left this house spotless in comparision to our arrival and left early. Older couples would enjoy the quite and it is really in the middle of nowhere. There were more details in my initial attempt to post but really at this time I feel that you should know that the owner needs to update this posting. I even emailed to confirm the air conditioners to find out they broke and were removed several weeks before I arrived.

Owner response:For someone who was very hard to please...3 out of 5 was a good rating. For future guests please note the cleaning company has been replaced as have the air condition units.

My wife & I just spent an amazing week at the magnificent lake home.....we have rented other houses, but this place was like home !!! Everything we could have possibly needed and more was all there and available for our use, it was like being at home !!! The house is nicely decorated and sparkling clean...the front and rear deck were great for dining or relaxing depending on the time of day 1 or the other was a cool & comfortable spot to relax...the pool area was UNBELIEVABLE !!! Crystal clear water and plenty big enough to swim laps or just float and relax....but don't let that sway you, the best is the spacious dock to fish from, launch the row boat or paddle boat (which are provided with the house) or to launch your own watercraft (we had a jet ski).....the lake is pristine and by far the calmest most peaceful lake I've ever visited...it is not a huge lake but plenty big enough, in fact, wwe were there over the 4th of July weekend and it was far from crowded...plenty of room to jetski the days away and not worry about tons of other boats.....the fishing was excellent as we caught fish every time we tried.....this was truly one of the most relaxing and memorable vacations EVER !!!! I highly recommend a visit....we'll be back next year !!!! Thanx again

Serenity and Beauty

We stayed at this lakehouse and it is sheer heaven! No need to bring anything but an overnight bag and food. The inside is beautifully furnished and very immaculate. The outside is blissful. We entertained, drank wine on the beautiful deck of the pool overlooking the lake. Rose in the morning to a day of fishing on the lake.... my favorite getaway!

Recommended for:Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, girls getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

Lake too small

The lake is too small for boating. Although many people do, we did not feel safe towing our children when more than 2 boats were present. Very limited space and people moving up and down the lake too close to have fun. We have been renting lake front and beach front homes for over fifteen years, this is the only place to ever deny us our deposit return. Don;t pay extra for clean up service, although your local contact is a very nice gentleman who is responsible for cleanup the owner will still say the house was not clean enough. When we arrived we had to clean out the refrigerator of leftovers and half full beverage cans among other patially used items. Wonder if the courtesy was returned but don't think so. The master bedroom is not a queen as in the description, unless I am a larger person in PA. We also rented the boat. Very old boat, accused us of leaving the bilge pump switch on and burned out the motor. Can't really say for sure that I left it on but I understand that most bilge pumps only pump when there is water to trigger them as defined below. "A bilge pump removes excess water from a boat. They are designed not to spark when you turn them on and off, since fuel often gets in the bilge. Float switches turn on a bilge pump when water fills to a certain level. The bilge pump should be set at the lowest level on the boat with a back-up pump at a higher location". Needless to say will not be back, consider going back, nor will we recommend this house or this lake to anyone we know. Good luck with this ridiculously remote place! I hope you didn't miss that it is in the middle of nowhere!!

Owner response: In 4 years of renting this renter was the only renter that did not get back their deposit...every other renter got their full deposit back. The lake is big enough for a 16 foot 70 horsepower motorboat. The deposit was used for repairs and extra cleaning. The bilge pump on the boat was left in the on position, burning the pump motor out and draining the battery (had to get a new one). The Bilge pump is located in the hull of the boat under the deck. trash was left in the house (garbage) so the house smelt of it Tomato catsup was on the kitchen walls, french fries under the bed in the master bed room and hamburg in the living room on the end tables

My family and I went to the lake house for a little 4th of July holiday weekend getaway. We enjoyed the lakeside and mountain scenery while enjoying the very nice pool; we grilled poolside and enjoyed our morning coffee and all meals outside on either the front or back deck. In the evenings we sat by the fire pit and enjoyed s’mores and some evening cocktails! We enjoyed an added bonus of lakeside residents shooting off fireworks for the holiday; it was perfect as the large display from around the lake reflected off the lake and against the clear starry sky. The owners and property manger were very accommodating. The place is perfect for getting away from it all – very quiet and relaxing. A very friendly community too; the neighbors and even the general store owners were very helpful and friendly.

Recommended for:Girls getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

Theres a pool but you can't swim in it.

I have been here for a week and the pool is filthy and still unusable. House is small and not comfortable for more than 4 people. Tv reception is limited. owner tells me to refer problems to his " property manager", whom I have yet to see. there is a dangerous situation with an electrical problem with the washing machine. On the plus side, house is clean and welll landscaped with beautiful lake right out the back door. I well be here for another 4 weeks, so there wiill be an update on this review.

Owner response:Technical difficulties precluded the pool opening until Memorial Day weekend. The pool was opened, clean and swimable that weekend...and has been pristine ever since. The renter was told that the cable system was being upgraded on May 28th...and the number of stations tripled and Pay For View was added. The property manager lives two houses away and his phone numbers are posted near the phone and he is very accessable. There are three bedrooms: The master bedroom has a full sized bed (comfortable for 2 and it's own bath), the front bedroom has a fullsized bed (comfortable for 2, and there is a second full sized bath) and the third bedroom has 2 twin beds (comfortable for 2 people. the is a sleep sofa, a fully reclining sleep chair and a small cot. I have actually had my whole Little League team and 4 adult coaches stay there.

Recommended for:Age 55+, romantic getaway.
