Welcome to Southern Comfort,a luxurious cabin with spectacular views off multi level decks. Built in 2007, this beautifully decorated log cabin has over 4500 Square feet of luxurious living space. The Great room contains 25 foot cathedral ceilings, log beams, a massive wood burning stone fireplace, 50 inch flat screen TV and a billiard table. The gourmet kitchen and island with granite countertops, state of the art stainless steel appliances, large cozy keeping room and gas burning stone fireplace is a dream for any cook. The master suite has 25 foot cathedral ceilings a sitting room, gas burning stone fireplace, a 50 inch flat panel TV and a private balcony with unsurpassed views. The lower level of the home contain three large bedrooms, one with a king size bed, one with a queen size bed and french doors for easy outside access and one with two full size beds and a separate sitting room. All bedrooms contain TVs and satellite cable. The state of the art Theater room offers a Blue-Ray DVD player with top of the line sound system, high definition 120 inch viewing screen and stadium seating.

In the evening enjoy the breath taking sunsets in front of the gas burning stone fireplace found on the covered porch. Southern Comfort is a privately owned family retreat built on twelve acres and surrounded by the Pisgah National Forest, for the purpose of escaping to the beauty, privacy and serenity of the Smokey Mountains.
We invite you to enjoy nearby downtown Waynesville with all the charm a small town has to offer. Its wonderful restaurants, antique shops and a general store that offers anything from cozy sweaters to old fashioned candy sold in old wooden barrels. Ashville is just a short 35 minute drive from Waynesville where you can tour the world famous Biltmore Estate or visit any number of antique shops. The fun won't stop there for the children or the kid in you with places like Pigeon Forge were there is putt putt golf, go carts, bungee jumping and shopping outlets. And after a hard day of play you can't miss the Apple Barn (a well known place in Pigeon Forge). Their down home cooking and apple fritters can't be missed. Other recommended places that are fun for all age groups are Gatlinburg, Dollywood (an amusement park owned by Dolly Parton) and the Cherokee Reservation (or for the adults there’s Harrah’s Casino).
For those nature lovers you can spend your days hiking the Appalachian Trail located atop Max Patch Mountain and located approximately 3 miles from Southern Comfort, where the most incredible views of the of the Great Smokey Mountains await you. Also available in the area is horse back riding through the National Forest or for a rare adventure try Llama Trekking. These gentle and kind hearted animals make it a one of a kind experience.After that, bring your fishing pole and head to Max Patch Pond just 2 miles from the cabin or head to Cold Springs Creek, a classic trout stream located a little further up the road in the Harmon Den area. And for the golf enhusiasts, the beautiful mountain golf courses (Most within a 40 minute drive) should not be missed. Also there is whitewater rafting down the French Broad River, which on a warm summer day can't be beat.

    Hi Tammy, Just a note to let you Know how much we enjoyed the cabin. We arrived in a small snow storm that left about an inch of snow. It was beautiful. My wife said "this is a place I could put in a months food supply and not have any need to leave". The cabin is a very special place.....spectacular ammenities, wonderful setting, amazing views and well needed seclusion. Hated to leave. The Madisons

  • My husband and I just returned from an extraordinary stay in this beautiful home which offered the ultimate in seclusion, amenities, and surroundings. Located 10 miles off the highway on a gravel road and what can only be described as up in the clouds, the view is breath-taking 24 hours a day. The owners have thought of everything you might need as it is lavishly appointed from the decor, to the bedding and linens, and even the fully equipped gourmet kitchen. We spent much time on the huge deck by the outdoor fireplace taking in the views and watching our dog play in the enormous front yard. We simply can’t wait to return and anxiously look forward to our next stay.

  • We were absolutely stunned by this cabin. It is beautifully decorated and I can't say enough about the amenities as well as the scenery and solitude that we experienced. We forgot about the normal world that we left behind. The pictures on the site really do not do this cabin justice. I would like to thank the owners for the lovely gift baskets, great touch! When we finally took our eyes off of the view and went inside we thought that we had walked in to a Disney resort. This place is the real deal and we WILL be back for the fall season. The theatre room was a huge plus! I have never seen one set up like that with stadium recliners and what a sound system!!! Also, I can't say enough about the hike that we took on Max Patch, what a beautiful place. We have enough pictures to load an entire wall with. This was a vacation that we will always remember and as mentioned, we will be back.
