Due to high demand, we are now taking reservations for the summer of 2010. Our new home is perched on the coastal Farm River. Located in of the family-friendly village of Short Beach. A 5 minute walk brings you to the association beach, trails in two conservation area, a small grocery, and a chance to ride restored electric trolleys. Wonderful restaurants, live theatre and cinema within a 15 minute ride.
The well appointed kitchen connects to open dining and living areas. This floor open onto a large wrap-around deck looking out on spectacular river views. Four comfortable bedrooms are upstairs. A dock float provides great kayak access, fishing and swimming.

Why the Owner Chose Branford
When my wife and I first saw this site, we fell in love with the view. We finished building our lovely green home perched on the river edge in late 2008. We love this unique coastal area, with its mix of granite, wood and marsh - it is reminiscent of Maine.
The Unique Benefits at this House
The view from the house and the deck makes you feel like you are on a boat heading up this wide coastal river. Kayaking from the dock head, relaxing on the deck and fishing are all right here. A five minute walk brings you to a lovely Association beach and the village center, post office and grocery, a state park and a special trail right along antique operating trolleys.
This pocket beach offers protected swimming and is great for kids of all ages.
In early summer, stripped bass (12 to 24 inch) are caught right off the dock head Mid to late August, "snapper blues", small bluefish are also caught off the dock head.
The Trolley Museam operates antique electric trolleys along a 1.5 mile track. This also offers great hiking along marsh and up Beacon Hill.
This state park offers hiking in 80 acres of woods, marsh, riverfront with great views.
Great fishing and kayaking all around Kelsey Island as well as Short Beach bay
Along 1000 acres of wild marsh, through the tide gates with the chance to stop at the East Haven deli for lunch!

I have loved spending most of my summers beaching, boating, clamming and fishing on this river on Long Island Sound. My wife and two boys have really taken to the great summer lifestyle that is offered at our home. This summer, while renting our home, we will continue living a bit down the river in our summer island cottage.
