The first house built on Drakes Island in 1906, Jake-a-loo still holds the charm of a weathered history with modern conveniences. Only 5 steps away from a beautiful beach and amazing view, this cottage is the perfect location for a relaxing and fun vacation. A newly landscaped yard allows for privacy or recreation apart from the beach and a great place to have a picnic. Three parking spots sit off the first floor which is an upgraded kitchen with all the amenities needed for the perfect Maine feast. There are 4 complete bedroom, 3 with queen beds and one with twins and 1 bathroom. A daybed with trundle is also a space for extra guests. A flat screen TV with DVD player and wireless internet allow you to stay in touch with the real world if needed. The front porch holds a table set and 4 rocking chairs to enjoy the view.

About the owner: This is our first year owning a summer cottage in Maine and we are thrilled. We live outside of Boston and have found Maine to be the perfect vacation spot. Only a short drive to relax on the beach yet feels thousands of miles away from home.
Why the Owner Chose Wells:
I grew up going to Drakes Island for the summer months and am so happy that my children will do the same. This property is directly on a very special beach with all the amenities you need to be comfortable.
The Unique Benefits at this Cottage:
Drakes Island is located between many tourist towns such as Kennebunkport, York and Ogunquit. You can enjoy all the restaurants, shopping and activities that these towns have to offer and then escape the crowds to Drakes Island. There are quaint antique shops lining the streets of Maine as well as restaurants, the famous Maine Diner is a mile down the road. The Kittery Outlets are 3 exits away. Drakes Island has one of the most perfect beaches for all ages. There are dozens of rocks clusters with star fish and crabs for kids to explore as well as hard, wet sand for castle-building and playing games.
