Two us stayed at this property for three nights recently and found it to be a good value. We found it slightly odd to be staying at a basement apartment but maybe only to us, since we haven't done it before. Oddness aside, we enjoyed our stay very much. The place is best for two adults. The amenities were exactly what we required for our stay. The location is great, lots of restaurants are within walking distance. We had a car when we were in town so we didn't use much public transportation but will if/when we return. Next time we won't use our car as much as parking in Vancouver is tough!

It was a lovely basement which had almost everything and just comfortable for 2 adults. I more so loved the hot tub experience. The hosts were sweet and cooperative. Its a perfect place just to chill and not be disturbed, going anywhere out to downtown or else where is the last thing U want to do as takes a long time and have to change 2 buses. Thanks Mark for your hospitality.

Great location, great venue, everything you would need for a short stay in Vancouver. Mark and Leanne are lovely hosts. We have stayed here several times and love everything about it including the little french cafe that is about 1/2 block away! It is a quiet neighborhood and there is lots of on street parking - everything you could want or need!
Owner response:It is always a pleasure to spoil our repeat guests! mark

Very central to downtown. Owner extremely helpful before and during stay but was too small for four adults and should only be rented to three at most. Did not use hottub and it rained most days we were there and it was not undercover but would have used had we had weather a bit dryer.

This was a cozy, quiet place to be in the chilly days of December, clean and everything new. The bed was comfortable as was the small sitting room. While the kitchenette is tiny, we were able to put some meals together. It was a perfect place for the two of us. Access to the wonderful hot tub out on the deck was wonderful! We really liked the neighborhood location a few blocks to major bus lines, restaurants and shops. Nice having access to downtown without being in the middle of downtown. Our host was very helpful and accommodating. We will recommend this lovely little place to friends and family and hope to visit again soon as we love Vancouver.

The Garden apartment has great access to a fun dining/shopping area on Main Street. We drove and so we were able to explore the UBC area and Kerrisdale, as well as taking the bus and train to downtown areas. The apartment was thoughtfully furnished, and seemed almost brand new. It would be perfect for two people, but worked out well for a short stay with three adults. Thank you!

As first time visitors to Vancouver from New Zealand we found this apartment to be an excellent base in a quiet area. It had all the amenities we needed and the spa was a welcome pleasure after a long day out. Everything was clean and tidy. A 20 minute taxi ride from the airport and close to two bus routes made site seeing easy and enjoyable. Main Street has a wealth of interesting shops and eating establishments. We particularly enjoyed the Cottage Bistro. Mark and Leanne were always very helpful answering our many and varied questions and cheerful with it. This apartment is exceptionally good value. We would recommend it highly to prospective visitors to Vancouver.

My husband and I stayed for a week between weddings and had a wonderful time. It is exactly as written - neat, clean, very comfortable and contains all of the comforts of home. We had a guest with us for a few nights and she was very comfortable too! We loved it and will be back. The perfect base from which to explore Vancouver - quiet location, good on street parking or close to public transit. The perfect combination!

This was a lovely way to spend our short time in Vancouver. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Nice to be able to have a fridge and stove, just in case you want to cook. Great to sleep in a very cushey bed. The jaquzzi was just an added bonus each night. They have a cute little coffee shop just 4 doors down and other shops and restaurants are within walking distance. We will go back on our next trip. Thank you.

Stayed for five days recently in what is essentially a basement apartment of the owners' house. It was very clean, everything was fresh and new, and was as bright as one can get in a basement which opens on to a small patio beneath a deck in the backyard. The bed, bed linens and towels were clean and top of the line; the kitchen was small but functional, though without a microwave which I found I missed. French press for coffee instead of a coffee maker, which was a fun change. Good quality coffee, along with milk, were provided, as was dish and laundry soap (we were afforded laundry access in top of the line laundry machines which was much appreciated), as well as shampoo, conditioner and shower gel in the shower. Owners Mark and Leann were friendly and helpful, but also very respectful of privacy. There were the typical footsteps and other 'house noises' you get living a floor below, and a cat travelled in and out of an electronic cat door day and night beside the suite, but these were background noises quickly grown accustomed to. Neighbourhood was otherwise extremely quiet and pleasant, with no problem parking on the street. Lovely (though pricey) coffee shop on the corner, and lots of recommendations from Mark and Leann for great restaurants within walking distance on Main St. The location overall was quite convenient, and felt very safe. All in all a very pleasant experience in a clean, fresh, well-kept living space with owners who obviously take great pride and care in their rental. If you don't need the high-rise experience with a view (and the associated price tag), would definitely recommend this for your stay in Vancouver. Will certainly choose it again for mine/ours in the future. Many thanks Mark and Leann.
Owner response:We are glad Nancy enjoyed the extra amenities we provide for guests. We work hard to provide these extra touches as they seem to be always appreciated. Mark and Leanne

This suite was perfect for me and my husband. We could cook if we wanted to but didn't because there were so many nice places to eat at. The views were incredible. It was fun to walk a few blocks to explore the park, Main St., and Fraser St. The neighborhood was quiet and the hosts available should you need anything. It was fresh, clean and comfortable (especially the bed). I certainly plan on going back there.

My friends and I recently just got back from spending a month in Canada. We stayed with Mark and Leanne for 12 nights on and off during this time and they are very welcoming, accomodating and flexible. This place is close to all public transport which made it easy to get everywhere and is also handy to local shops to get essentials. Also there is a beautiful view out to all mountains on the north shore. We spent quite a few nights in the spa which was became a night time fav thing to do eventhough it was fairly cold outside. Would definately come stay again. Regards, Dan from New Zealand
Owner response:We enjoyed the visit from these keen NZ snowboarders and welcome skiers and boarders from all over the world to enjoy our fantastic skiing in BC.

A well equipped and clean condo in a great neighborhood. Mark is a great host and gave us a lot of recommendations. The bus nearby (Main St and Fraser) takes you to nearly all directions so you won't need a car. We can highly recommend the condo to everyone and we would come back again any time. Many thanks for hosting us.

My boyfriend and I stayed at Mark's garden condo for several nights. We were visiting Vancouver for the first time from Colorado and we loved it! Mark was very gracious and welcoming. The condo was in a very hip and trendy part of town, with lots of great boutique shops and restaurants. We definitely recommend staying here.

This unit was exactly as described and shown in the listing; a very quaint, comfortable one bedroom below the main house. The property was clean, well furnished and decorated and we slept as great as we would have at home. The paypal transaction couldn't have been smoother and all my questions were answered via email prior to booking. I would recommend this for anyone looking for a very central location to explore all around Vancouver. You helped to make our vacation a memorable one. Thank you.
Owner response:We enjoyed having Meg and she was a pleasure to have as a guest as well

We rented this suite for a short stay during the Olympics and were very happy with all it offered. I was one of a group of four and even though the suite normally only accommodates 3 the owners set out an extra bed to allow us all to stay comfortably. The suite is modern, and although not overly large it makes due very well with the space provided. The hot tube was a great plus as well. The location is just outside (a 30 min walk) of downtown and just off main street which has a dedicated bus line where a 5 minute wait seemed to be the average.

My husband and I were extremely satisfied with everything Mark and his wife had to offer. Unfortunately, like the other review, we didn't get the chance to meet Mark either, his wife was great though! The place is in a great location and perfect for those using public transportion. Everything was exactly as shown and described. After walking around all day at the Olympics the hot tub was exactly what we were looking for. I highly recommend staying here and hope to come back again!

Great place to stay. Close to bus routes and easy to get around, no need to rent a car. Clean house with a functional kicthen, that made some full flavored breakfasts. Had the beat coffe I've tasted in years. A pieace of our luggage stayed behind and mark had it to us in one week from our departure. And he called us about what we left behind. Thanks Mark

I spent a week in this beautiful home and can only think of one bad thing about the experience and that is that I didn't get to meet Mark, the owner and occupant of the residence. After a hard day of riding on the North Shore this little oasis in the east end of Vancouver was a pleasure to come home to each night. The property indoors and out is well maintained and it is easy to tell that Mark is proud of what he has to offer any guest that stays with him. Looking foward to the next annual Vancouver trip. Thanks Mark

My husband and I stayed in this delightful apartment while in Vancouver for the birth of a grandchild. The apartment though small, as all Vancouver property is, was exceptionally well appointed and thoughtfully designed. It is more than comfortable and because it is new everything is fresh and clean. We look forward to using this in the future as our home away while visiting our family in Vancouver throughout the year. The neighbourhood is exciting and young with great clothing boutiques and wonderful restaurants.

Near some great grocerie stores, coffee houses etc. On nice fairly quiet tree lined street. I would recommend you stay here for sure!
