This charming beach cottage was built in the 1930's from a Sears kit! It is ideal for those family summer vacations. There is a large yard with a picnic table, a grill, a fire pit, an outdoor shower, a small deck, and (of course) a hammock.
The house itself consists of a living room with a fireplace, 2 bedrooms, a bathroom, the kitchen and an eating area. The front bedroom has a double-sized bed. The other bedroom has a bunk bed with a double on the bottom and a twin on the top. Guests provide their own bed linens and towels. Blankets, pillows and all household items necessary for a comfortable stay are provided.
The beach is just a short 10 minute walk. The property is located only a few minutes away from a deli, ice cream, pizza, food market, fish market, farm stand, restaurants, pharmacy, video rental, bait shop, bakery, liquor store, and boat rentals.
Charlestown is very picturesque and has little commercialism. It is located between Westerly and Narragansett, both more commercial with a variety of shopping facilities. Our seaside community offers so much more than its miles of fabulous beaches, such as fine and casual dining, and wildlife sanctuaries, a haven for bird watchers and hikers.
All sorts of wonderful destinations can be reached within 30 minutes. Try taking the Ferry to Block Island and rent a bike to tour the island and the lighthouse. Pick your pleasure (restaurants, nightlife, gambling, entertainment) at the two nearby casinos; Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun. Newport offers fabulous shopping and antiquing and well known restaurants in addition to their famous mansions and beaches.
Visit the quaint communities of Watch Hill and Wickford. The Mystic Aquarium and Seaport in Connecticut is only 20 minutes away and the Groton submarine tour/museum is just beyond that. So much to do!
