Location: Boston, Greater Boston, Massachusetts, USA (3mi from downtown Boston. 25 minute subway ride to Logan Int) View Map
Accommodations: Condo, 2 Bedrooms + Other (See Description), 1 Bath (Sleeps 4-6)
Keywords: Condominium
This property is situated in a row of similar homes all built in the mid 1800s for German factory workers and brewers. The Brewery District became such due to the artesian wells that were found here. There were many breweries at one time, but now just the Boston Beer Company, famous for the Sam Adams family of beers.
Our 900 square foot, 2 bedroom / 1 bath condominium is decidedly modern. There are very high ceilings and a fairly open plan. You will find it to be refreshingly modern in an antique town. The architect re-designed space is very flexible and bright.
Enjoy our extensive collection of fresh local art. This is not your standard run of the mill rental. The collection will occasionally rotate. Currently showing 'Ladylike' by Christine Li and black & white photography by Janelle McCuen as well as other works. Completely redesigned with a SS kitchen, washer/dryer in unit, pantry, huge closets, tall ceilings (12 ft in some places), recessed lighting, modern fixtures, and an office alcove. Versatile floor plan. Enjoy Japanese style garden just outside master bedroom. 1blk to T, Bella Luna restaurant/bar, Mike's Fitness, Ula Cafe and City Feed & Supply all just a block away. Walk to Centre Street's many shops and restaurants. Convenient central location to downtown, 93, 95, 90, etc. Minutes to Medical area. Absolutely no need for a car unless you're leaving Boston Metro.
**CALENDER MAINTAINED REGULARLY. RATES ARE DESCRIBED HERE IN DETAIL AND APPLY TO 4 PERSON OCCUPANCY.**

Why the Owner Chose Boston
I originally came to Boston from the Ozark Mountains in Southwest Missouri. Obviously there was some culture shock involved - but luckily I found JP rather serendipitously. Jamaica Plain happens to be the greenest neighborhood in Boston and felt more comfortable to me. In 1997, Jamaica Plain had the third highest percentage of tree cover of all Boston neighborhoods and the highest percentage in the Heart of the City. Jamaica Plain is nestled between tremendous open space resources, including Franklin Park, the Arnold Arboretum, the Forest Hills Cemetery, Jamaica Pond, the Allandale Woods Urban Wild, and the Southwest Corridor Park, as well as numerous other smaller parks, tot-lots, and playgrounds. Jamaica Plain contains or is adjacent to more than 1,250 acres of open space. In other words, there's plenty of space for hiking, biking, fishing, etc. right here around the house. However, all the wonderful culture, history and architecture is just moments away. The Orange Line "T" is just a block away and will whisk you downtown (8 min) and beyond.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo
We are right in the middle of it! There's absolutely no need for a car here. The Stony Brook Station (Orange Line) is a block away and will have you Downtown in 8-10 min. There you can change to the Red Line (to Harvard and MIT), Blue Line (airport), or the Green Line (all sorts of places). There are many buses nearby including the #39 to the medical area, Museum of Fine Arts and downtown. Fenway Park is only 3 mi (believe it or not we walk it - it's just easier and cheaper than parking there). All of the amenities you need are within walking distance. Visit the "Brewery" just a block away for Ula Cafe where you'll find amazing coffee and an outstanding strada or brioche. The only gym in JP, Bella Luna gourmet pizza and bar, and the Boston Beer Company for delicious, fresh Sam Adams Beer. You are surrounded by parks and assorted types of green space as mentioned above. All within walking or biking distance. Pack a lunch and head to Frederick Law Olmsted designed Franklin Park with America's oldest zoo and golf course! Visit Forest Hills Cemetery where you will find scores of notable Bostonians (don't expect autographs) or Harvard's beautiful Arnold Arboretum. Go for a sail on Jamaica Pond or a bike ride down the Southwest Corridor. Centre Street is a 15 minute walk away with Thai, Irish, Chinese, Italian, American, ice cream, Mexican, Cuban, Dominican, Northern & Southern Indian, Middle Eastern, Japanese, vegetarian, fusion, etc. It's like a Benetton ad for food. I could go on and on.
Owner's Map of Boston
My name is William and I have lived in Jamaica Plain for 17 years. My wife Christine & I are Realtors with Prudential. We have a 4 year old daughter named Vitoria and a dog named Early (don't worry - not a barker). We gut renovated our 140 year old Mansard Victorian ourselves. There wasn't much historic detail left so we went modern. We love architecture, design and landscaping and are constantly working on our home. We hope you enjoy your stay with us.
