We had a 4 day stay in this grand old house in September 2011. We were a group of 7, including our 2 kids under 3 years old, and our our parents in their late 60's. The house was really spacious and was able to accommodate all of us very comfortably (including massive grounds, which allowed the kids lots of space to run and play). The kitchen was well stocked with all the cooking essentials, and plenty of linens and towels etc were available. The house was far enough away from the tourist crowds, yet only a 2 min drive into downtown St Helena (or 15-20 min beautiful walk). If you are looking for a modern house with the latest finishes, then this is not the place for you. But, if, like us, you appreciate a place full of character and life, then this house is just perfect - it really felt like being at home, and we thank the owners for allowing us to share in their special part of the world!
Recommended for:Sightseeing, families with young children, families with teenagers, pet owners, age 55+.
