We have just completed our trip to this lovely home from Australia. Susan and Drew were so accommodating to all our needs. The house is complete with all the amenities for a family or just a couple. we went with our 11 and 9 year old children. the house was large enough to accommodate all our sleepings arrangements. The location is nothing but sensational. Seal beach is a little sea side location well away from all the Hustle and action of LA. We enjoyed the nightly walks up to main street and all the many restaurants available. The area was great and I cannot say more about Seal Beach, Susan and Drew.

Recommended for:Sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, families with teenagers.

A Fabulous Week at Seal Beach

Our week at Seal Beach was wonderful. The beach house is delightful and is all that it promises to be. It is well maintained and the furnishings are elegant. The ocean breezes are heavenly and the views from the decks are out of this are out of this world. The owners are very easy to work with and carry through with their part of the agreement. We want to return next year.

Recommended for:Romantic getaway, age 55+, tourists without a car.

We stayed at this house in mid-July and all the information given on the website was right on. The home was beautiful, CLEAN, and well taken care of. The owners Susan and Jerry were so easy to deal with and we had no surprises. Jerry came the first night to tell us about the home, the area, and any restaurants he would suggest. We loved the proximity to the beach and the town center. The town is very quaint and the towns people are low key and friendly. Not a snobbish feel at all, like many other California coastal towns. Main street has a great spa for massages and pedicure/manicures. It contains a couple nice bakeries and some great restaurants. We enjoyed eating at the Yucatan cafe for mexican fare. The owners were very nice and the food was delicious. The home had a wonderful kitchen, barbecue, 3 balconies to enjoy your morning latte,surf boards and boogie boards for our enjoyment. My husband rode around town on the bicycles and we took many relaxing walks. The beach was uncrowded and there is a surf school right on the beach you can sign up and take a surf lesson while you stay. Thanks to Susan and Jerry for the wonderful week we spent at your beautiful home!

My extended family of 8 (including 2 children) stayed at this lovely house for a week recently. Every bedroom had its own bathroom which was great and gave us all so much privacy. Two of the bedrooms have convertible (futon) beds which some people might not like. The kitchen was fully stocked; we only needed to bring food. The rooftop decks came in handy on July 4th which is where we watched the various fireworks displays all around the area. The beach was less than a block away, but it is a very wide beach and a long walk to get to the water. Pack your lunch because you won't want to be trekking back and forth. We walked to the pier and Main Street every day to shop, eat, exercise. One day we golfed close by. We also used the two bicycles to ride around the area. We all loved it and would come back again.

Family Vacation - Mid May

This was a first trip to southern California for my daughter & her family, although I have been many times. The home was lovely as the pictures had promised, spacious and clean with the feeling of being "home". The professionally equipped kitchen afforded "Mammaw" (me!) the ability to cook gourmet or "down home" breakfasts each morning. Dealing with the owner from reservation to return of deposit was a positive, informative experience. Her son was our "host" and was present when we arrived to show us around and answer any questions. We loved the ambiance of the home. There were beautiful views from all the decks. Having 3 1/2 bathrooms afforded our little group more time for theme parks & the beach. The only drawback was it was bit cooler & wetter in mid-May than we had expected for "Sunny California." The fireplaces and furnace were inoperable but there was a space heater for the children's room, and loads of blankets for keeping warm. My daughter loved the small town feel of Seal Beach and we did our best shopping there on the last day of our trip. Disney/California Adventure are less than a half hour away. Universal and Hollywood are about an hour. We loved being so close to the beach but also able to access freeways for other attractions 1-2 hours away. Be sure to bring your GPS or get one from your car rental facility. We especially enjoyed a trip out to Yermo where we went through Calico, a historic mining camp, then enjoyed a late lunch at Peggy Sue's 50's diner. That day was topped off with a scenic drive across the desert down to see the windmills in Palm Springs area before returning "home". The best breakfast of the trip we found at River's End Cafe which is just a short walk from the house. The Chilaquiles were everything that our beach house host had recommended! Thanks for that tip! To top off the wonderful week, a yummy fruit & cheese box arrived mid-week and provided us with a to-go breakfast for on the way to the airport! Many many thanks for that lovely gift. I'm already thinking about how&when to make it back there with my husband and my step-children. I'm thinking a summer or fall trip in 2012 sounds wonderful!

The location is great!! Just blocks from downtown Seal Beach which is a super cute little area. It's just across the street from the beach. It is definitely a house with a location that you could spend a week there and never get in your car and have a wonderful time. The balconies were great! Very private house. The owners, Susan and Jerry, were great and so easy to work with. It was nice that there are 3 bathrooms. We all had our own space. We are already try to figure out when we can come back! :) (just a side note~deposit was received with in 2 weeks of departure)

My husband, children and I stayed here recently as we have family in Seal Beach and wanted to be nearby but still have our own space. This was the perfect spot - a short stroll along to Main Street for great eats and drinks, and a short stroll to the wonderful beach. The house has a fabulous outlook from the terraces and balcony to the sea. Seal Beach is a beautiful town, people are so friendly and it is very picturesque. The house is huge!!! The boys could not believe how much space there was and it was wonderful to prepare some meals in the excellently equipped kitchen area. The whole house was extremely comfortable and we felt immediately at home - we really liked the fact that it felt like a much-loved real family home and was full of books, also toys for children. We'd love to come back. Dealing with the owner was very easy and straightforward.

Our family of five rented this beautiful home while we visited Los Angeles and San Diego. This home was perfectly located to allow us to enjoy both cities. More importantly, although we were centrally located, we were also staying in an idyllic small beach town. The only thing between us and the beach was one house. The balconies provided beautiful views of both the marina and the beach. We walked to downtown Seal Beach to enjoy the shops, restaurants and ice cream numerous times. We went to the beach every day. The home owners provided beach chairs, boogie boards, sand toys and large beach towels. The setting was ideal. The home was very spacious and a perfect fit for our family. Everyone had their own bed and their own private space. In fact, every bedroom even had its own bathroom. The only disappointment was that although there are 3 fireplaces, they aren't operable. However they still added to the ambiance. The appliances were top notch. In fact the dishwasher and gas stove were the highest quality appliances I have ever seen in a private home. Everything we needed was available. The owner and her son were very accomodating. They were even kind and gracious when I called early the morning we left when I saw we still had the garage door opener in our rental car when we got to the airport! (Thanks to the US postal service all ended well.) The owner's son came over the day after we arrived to help us with a few questions. They were wonderful hosts.
