This cottage includes a master suite with bath, fishing boat with dock, beautiful sandy beach, 2 Family Rooms both equipped with Cable & DVD, newly remodeled with multiple outdoor decks & covered balcony. Our Lakefront Cottage is located in the Forest Lakes Resort Area just 15 minutes southeast of Downtown Traverse City. It is available from Memorial Weekend thru Labor Day weekly rentals run Sunday 3pm until the following Sunday morning at 10am. Weekly rates with minimum 5 night stay. SINGLE FAMILY RENTALS ONLY "no multifamily rentals at any time."
Amenities include an equipped kitchen, living/dining room and lower walkout family room. The master suite has a full bath and doorwall opening to deck, 2nd Bedroom (bunk room) has two twin bunk beds (sleeps 4) 3rd bedroom is off of family room in walkout lower level, laundry room with stackable washer/dryer, additional full bath on main level, screened in porch off living room and lower level covered porch with swing over looking lake.
All linens except personal towels are furnished. The location offers spectacular views of the lake and bay. Spider Lake is unique in that we have 3 Public Islands with 459 acres of Lake. We have an association that regulates a quiet time early in the morning and in the evening for fishing, kayaking, canoeing, and sailing. This no wake time adds to the Up North peaceful feel you can enjoy at our cottage. With Spider Lake being located in the Forest Lake Resort Area it allows you the ability to visit a number of other lakes close at hand.
Whether you prefer a lazy or active vacation, you will find it here. Our family cottage offers you a swim, great fishing, row the interesting shoreline or visit an island to picnic on or swim off its sandbar, read a book, enjoy a casual dinner or relax on one of the many out door living areas. There are several golf courses and casinos a close drive from the cottage. Spider lake boat launch is nearby. A park with a baseball diamond, tennis, and basketball courts is just up the road.
Whether you enjoy a dinner at home on the deck with a a glass of wine from your day trip to one of the local wineries topped off by a bonfire on the beach roasting marshmallows for desert ; or a short drive to fine dining restaurants over looking the bay and a stroll in downtown Traverse City you will relax and unwind in this Northern Michigan Resort Area.
Our cottage is available for weekly rental, Memorial Weekend through Labor Day, to a "MAXIMUM OF EIGHT PERSONS ONLY!". We offer a $100 discount to repeat renters and referrals that rent a minimum of 1 wk. A $500 deposit is required to hold your reservation and the balance is due one month prior to your arrival. More detailed directions and information will be provided at the time you make your reservation. Why the Owner Chose Traverse City
My parents purchased our cottage in 1967. I spent all of my summers during my teenage years on Spider Lake. My own children have summered since birth at the lake. Our beach sand is excellent for small children to play in. To put it in my husband's own words when he came home from a business trip in Japan, "I knew we had one of the most popular and beautiful resort areas in the world to spend our summers, when I saw Traverse City, MI on the Departure Board at the airport in Tokyo!"
The Unique Benefits at this Cottage
While staying at the cottage don't miss visiting Ranch Rudolph just minutes away for horseback riding, tubing & canoeing. The local hangout for great pizza or a mouth watering skirt steak is Peego's and it has nightly entertainment on the outside deck on weekends. A drive up the Peninsula between East and West Bay to the Light House is a must. Stop to enjoy great food at Old Mission Tavern while viewing their many works of art by local artists in the restaurant and gallery in the back. Then enjoy a drink or gourmet dining while the sun sets over West Bay at the Boat House or Bowers Harbor Inn.

We spent our first of hopefully many family vacations here and had the time of our lives!!! The cottage was the perfect setting on a private, beautiful lake and had all the amenities you would ever need. Everyone enjoyed being right on the water each day and campfires at night. The owner Sue was great to work with and very accomodating - our family really enjoyed our time here and look forward to returning soon!
Recommended for:Age 55+, families with young children.

Thanks for sharing your wonderful home with us. My whole family had just the best time in years together. The weather was great, except for one day so we all toured the wineries on mission point then went to the movies. Which some of us slept through. Your neighbors were kind and helpful like we've known then for years. The lake at night was pure serenity with the fire pit on the waters edge which we used nightly. We all feel rested and slightly burned just like every good vacation should be.
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers.

This is the perfect family getaway. This was a great vacation for the whole family. The cottage is on a beautiful secluded bay very close to Traverse City. I am sure the whole family will not soon forget the great time we had at this beautiful cottage. Thanks for allowing us to enjoy this little bit of heaven on earth!
