Relax, unwind and get away to this beautiful setting on scenic Lake Keowee! This spacious home is in a quiet, established neighborhood convenient to Lake Keowee Marina, The Tiki Hut, grocery stores, shopping, Clemson University, golf courses and many other attractions. You will feel secluded, away from the cares, worries, and hustle and bustle of everyday life, but you will be only five minutes away from conveniences and attractions. Stop by the Lake Keowee Marina where you can rent a variety of water sports equipment and visit the Tiki Hut next door to eat, party, sing karaoke or enjoy friendly neighbors. You will be only 7 miles from Clemson University. This is a great house to rent if you want to attend Clemson events! The lovely small town of Seneca, SC is only minutes away and offers gift shops and dining.
Of course, Lake Keowee is the main attraction here. The house overlooks a scenic cove which offers beauty and serenity and is only a 2-minute boat ride to the main part of the lake. The Lake Keowee Marina has a boat launch and also rents pontoon boats. The marina is only 5 minutes away from the house by car or boat and the cruise from the lake house to the Marina is the perfect place to see a beautiful lake sunset. The lake is surrounded by beautiful homes and natural woodlands with the mountains of North and South Carolina visible in the distance. The lake is beautiful in all seasons of the year. A map of the lake is available for viewing in the house and are available for purchase at the marina. Because the lake is oriented in a north-south direction with coves off to the east and west, it is quite easy to navigate.
This is a wonderful home in which to enjoy the lake, family, and friends. From the moment you enter this spacious 4,000 square-foot house, you will be surrounded by relaxing beauty both inside and out. There is a beautiful rock path leading to a new, double-slip dock. The lot is landscaped with mature native and imported trees and shrubs which are enjoyed by squirrels and a variety of birds.
The warm, welcoming feeling you experience upon entering the front door will follow you through the house. The living room and rock fireplace create a relaxing environment year round. The incredible screened-in porch invites you to enjoy nature, a gorgeous view of the lake and comfortable furniture from a local artist under a cooling fan. You can rock away the hours on the glider on one of the decks or the patio porch swing. You can read a good book in an overstuffed chair in the library which overlooks the lake. You can soak away stress in the master suite Jacuzzi tub or simply enjoy a good night's sleep on a pillow-top mattress that surrounds you with comfort. The fully-equipped kitchen is a welcoming space; practical, comfortable, with every amenity, and opens to the living room and dining room for ease of conversation and functionality. The den downstairs offers a large gathering space for games and entertainment with a gas fireplace, a 52" flat-panel HDTV and a Wii.

Year Purchased: 2009
The owners of this lovely property are Kellye and Michael Ratcliff and Kellye's sister, Karen Smith. Kellye and Michael live in Simpsonville, SC and own their own business, and Karen is a Cardiologist in Gainesville, Florida. All grew up in western North Carolina and still have family there.
Why the Owner Chose Seneca
A love for the mountains, the lake, being together with family, creature comforts and entertaining, as well as an appreciation for the beauty of nature prompted our interest in buying the house at Lake Keowee. It is located in close proximity to Kellye and Michael's home in Simpsonville which makes it convenient for them to enjoy the house frequently and to ensure that it is well-maintained. Lake Keowee is a beautiful lake with a nice marina. While there are many residents, it is not overly populated or crowded. Some other SC lakes have endured problems with low water levels in recent years, but this has not been the case with Lake Keowee. It is owned and well-maintained by Duke Power. The location is also convenient to Clemson University, the mountains of NC, small picturesque towns and larger cities such as Greenville, Charlotte and Atlanta. Terrific location for Clemson home football games!
The Unique Benefits of this House
Lake Keowee itself is, of course, the main attraction. We enjoy the lake-front location of the house and the new two-slip covered boat dock. The house is in a quiet cove at the southern end of the lake in a lovely neighborhood. The yard is beautifully landscaped. The location in the cove provides privacy and peace, but allows easy access to the main portion of the lake and to the marina. Available activities include boating, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, jet skiing, water skiing, sailing, and swimming, hiking, biking, and picnicking. We also enjoy the close proximity to Seneca, Easly, and Clemson which provide shopping, golf, restaurants, antiquing, sightseeing, movies, miniature golf, and Clemson University sports.
