Nantucket Island provides an historic and relaxing sea-side escape; our property is located in the Nashaquisset community with on-site rental and property management. Featured in the April 2010 Design Issue of Nantucket Today, this adorable Nantucket country cottage is an ideal spot to enjoy an island vacation; a short walk from downtown and conveniently located to shopping, markets and beaches.
Our air conditioned home is named Tuitions End; we purchased the property after we had "almost" finished with college payments. We thought this was a very special location for vacations with family and friends. It is beautifully decorated in a blue, yellow and white color palette, with comfortable furnishings and a place for everything. A galley kitchen that would delight the most demanding chef, includes culinary items required for fine cooking or entertaining. We installed an ultra quiet, high efficiency, whole house air conditioning system in 2011 to ensure August summer comfort for all guests, just in case it's needed.
A spacious side yard is ideal for playing croquet or other lawn games. It compliments the shaded patio that is a refreshing spot to dine or entertain outdoors any time of the day. Adjoining the main patio is is a second, large circular patio with deck chairs and umbrella, which is perfect for sunning or afternoon reading. For those who enjoy outdoor activities, it is just a few minutes walk to the pool and (2) Har-Tru tennis courts, in addition to bike paths and beaches.

2nd Floor:
- Bedroom with queen size bed, HD LCD TV and digital cable, home office with computer, high speed internet and network printer.

- Den/family room with full size sofa bed, daybed, TV, VCR & DVD player, DVR (digital video recorder), large selection of VHS and DVD movies, bookcases loaded with books for reading, along with a large assortment of games, toys and puzzles.
Patio:
- Private, fully landscaped, brick patio with mature trees; dining area on main patio, with a secondary circular patio for sunning or shady reading on deck chairs.

Rental Details:
Nashaquisset offers (2) Har-Tru tennis courts, along with a newly renovated swimming pool and large sundeck. The on-site rental office is located one block away, in the historic Tashama Farmhouse and is open seven days a week. The Nashaquisset rental staff will greet you, answer your questions and help assure that your stay is a memorable one. Your home will be professionally cleaned weekly during your stay. No pets. No smoking. Rental minimum is one week and turnover is Saturdays.

Tuitions End is a close walk to everything (downtown, food, shopping, beaches, bike paths), yet far enough away for privacy. The home is unique with it's comfortable furnishings, spacious private patios and side yard, on-site rental management and well maintained grounds. Extensive biking and hiking paths connect the island with a sustainable transportation network; our local path is less than 2 blocks away.
The Unique Benefits at this House
Fully air conditioned home. All linens, kitchen utensils and supplies are included. Nothing to do but open a good book and relax ... or hike/jog to the beach for early morning exercise ... or walk into town for shopping or dinner. The location is close to everything, including a bakery with the best almond croissants this side of Paris. The spacious patio offers a unique room filled with a soft ocean breeze, yet just outside the convenience of your back door. Tuitions End is tastefully decorated with French and local Nantucket artwork; it's very easy for you to relax and quickly transcend into Nantucket Island mode.

We were drawn to Nantucket by it's history with the Sea. We had vacationed on Nantucket several times and then had an opportunity to buy our home in 1995, which we named Tuitions End. We have added many custom and personal touches which enhance the comfort of our guests, as well as high tech features, such as high speed wireless internet, computer and printer, stereo system with music CD library and digital cable HD TV's in loft/media room and bedrooms. We have kept the home unique with a beach side country decor, comfortable sofas and custom bookcases loaded with collections of Nantucket history, cook books, reference books, novels and European travel books. The spacious and private patio has both sunny and shady areas to accommodate reading, relaxing and entertaining. Tuitions End is a short walk to town, shopping, restaurants, the waterfront and beaches.

My family was looking for the perfect rental for a week in Nantucket. We'd stayed at a number of homes in Nashaquisset and while most were nice, they all felt like "Rental Home". We decided to stay at "Tuition's End' because it looked so warm and inviting in the photos. Our family was not disappointed at all! The owners have done a great job of making the home comfortable, bright, and relaxing. Both bedrooms are good sized and private. You can also use the area above the loft as sleeping quarters as well. Our family of 4 had more than enough room. Part of what we really appreciated is that the accommodations in this home are what you'd put in a real home that YOU wanted to stay in, not just what you'd stick in a "rental unit". Great for folks that like to cook, although it is a 1 person kitchen. Owners and on-site staff are responsive and helpful should you need anything during your stay. Overall - Highly Recommended.

Tuition's End is a lovely Nantucket cottage ideally situated close to town and island bike paths. We stayed for one week in August and used only bikes to get around. The kitchen is small but well-stocked. The electronic equipment is easy to use, there are many wonderful books to enjoy and the outdoor shower is a plus. We would definitely recommend this property to friends and family. It was an excellent place to enjoy the simple pleasures of family time and to leave the bustling world behind.

I can't thank you enough for allowing us to stay at your place and experience a real "Nantucket" Vacation. We had such a wonderful time from the moment we arrived until we departed (sadly) this morning. The entire trip was just perfect from the weather, your home, beaches, dining both in and out and also some of your wonderful neighbors that we had the pleasure of meeting. We couldn't have asked for a better vacation. We know now that next time we'll have to stay a little longer. I'm trying to convince my husband to take a 2 week vacation - I think this trip may have done it for him! He's talking about having Thanksgiving on the island. We had a wonderful dinner last night at The Sea Grill. It was the perfect ending to a wonderful stay on Nantucket. Looking forward to many return trips. I think this may be our destination for future summer vacations. I know my daughter, is going to be disappointed tomorrow that she has to drive to the tennis courts to play instead of having it out her back door like she had this past week. She got spoiled for sure. We really enjoyed biking our way around the island - did not miss not having a car one bit. It allowed us to view the island in a completely different way than we would have with our car. You just can't beat waking up and biking to Surfside every morning. I guess tomorrow we will have to settle for our pool in the backyard which isn't so bad after all. We will be talking about this vacation for a long time!!! Thanks Again for everything!

We had a terrific experience at "Tuition's End". The cottage was 'as advertised' in that everything was in good condition, the kitchen was well equipped, it was immaculate, and the location was central without being right in the middle of town. The clay tennis courts and swimming pool are a nice addition. Ron was very responsive to all of our questions. Highly recommended!

We absolutely loved the house- it was so warm and cozy- and had everything we needed. You and your wife have done such a wonderful job with the decorating- it is really beautiful but also relaxed and comfortable. I woke up this morning wishing we were back on Nantucket at Tuition's End...instead of home! Thank you so much for all your help throughout the rental process.
