The owners are offering peace and tranquility in their mountain home
Location: Bryson City, Smoky Mountains, North Carolina, USA (1 hour to Asheville . 3 hrs from Atlanta)
Accommodations: House, 3 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2.5 Baths (Sleeps 6-8)
Keywords: 2-Story House on Paved Road with spectacular views and wrap around deck just 6 miles from Bryson City.
Enjoy your stay in this beautiful, like new, 2550 square feet of luxury, with two stories for plenty of privacy. The view is so unique those working on the house kept stopping to enjoy it. "We have never seen this before" were words repeatedly spoken even by those born and raised in the area.
The house is nestled inside a mountain and overlooks the valley below. "It doesn't get any better than this" you'll say even before hearing the sounds coming from the creek below. Trout pushing through currents of the Alarka Creek will make any fisherman's mouth water.
The abundant wildlife provides a welcome background for the spectacular view where hawks are seen flying over the valley, wild turkeys cross the road, bobcat, deer and a black bear round out this natural environment.
You enter the house from the north on to the deck and when you open the front door you will be delighted by the Great Room and its 52 feet of glass windows and doors. The view can be enjoyed everywhere you look. The decor is luxurious with African Chestnut hardwood floors.
The dining area adjoins sliding glass doors for easy entry to the deck. Nobody is left out. Not even the cook. There is a full size kitchen with all amenities, granite counters and a breakfast bar, which seats five and everywhere you look, there is a spectacular view of the Smokies.
The Master bedroom is on the main floor and has French Doors leading to the deck. The queen size bed is comfortable with a thick luxurious mattress and after a good night's sleep there is nothing better than waking up to the magical views. The adjoining oversized marble bathroom, has a large jacuzzi tub for plenty of soaking and a separate shower stall for additional privacy.
Then down to the lower level for fun in the family room. Shoot some pool, or play soccer on the fooz ball table and you keep everyone entertained. Families bond and get even closer by way of play, as we found out through a wicked game of foozball, making us all feel like youngsters!
You'll also find two oversized bedrooms, with views of the mountains in every room. One has a Queen size bed and a door leading to the bathroom for added privacy. The second bedroom is adjacent to the bathroom and also sleeps two.
Need to do laundry? Don't despair a separate room with sink and tub, large washer & dryer makes this an easy chore.
When in the family room, walk out the sliding glass doors on to the covered deck and enjoy the fabulous view, while staying cool. For your convience there is a downstairs refrigerator. Everything there to socialize with friends, which includes playing cards in the "cozy corner." It's wonderful setting to dine and take in the magnificent colors of the spectacular sunsets.
There are many wonderful things to do and we highly recommend rafting down the Nantahala, or taking the family tubing down Deep Creek and picnicing under the many shelters. Our son loves canoeing on Fontana Lake, or hiking the natural forest found all around us. The grandchildren like to mine for gold or gems and people like me, enjoy finding those bargains at flea markets and antique shops.
Everything to do is within a twelve mile radius. Shopping for groceries at the Ingles, only 6.5 miles away and for local entertainment, check out music at the river, or live theater in Bryson City. Don't forget to take a train ride on the Great Smoky Mountain Railroad and if you wish to stay breathless head for Asheville 1 1/2 hours away. And, don't succomb to family pressure, if you just want to sit on the deck and rejuvenate the Spirit, taking a breather from it all!
Whatever you decide to do, we'll leave plenty of information to make sure your stay is both comfortable and enjoyable.

Owner's Profile
Owner Description
Year Purchased: 2003
In 2003 we decided to build our house and gave ourselves the experience of a lifetime. Spending nights sleeping in the shed, while watching knowledgable mountain men build our home.
It brought us back to the very beginning of ancestors coming to this great country with nothing more but a dream. That was the journey and we're so proud of the results.
Why the Owner Chose Bryson City
Bryson City is the way life once was. A community where people still help each other through tough times, so that we feel connected to one another.
Over these last few years, I have come to know Gail, whose husband Dennis passed away, but sold us the rocking chairs found on our deck. They own the Alarka Trading Post and when we told her, "Gail, how are we going to get these chair to our house," her answer was "Here are the keys to my pickup truck." Across from her lives the Barker family, who will sell you a bushel of potatoes sold in their garden.
They show us predictability in living, planting the garden that will feed their families during the winter time. They're still canning and eating whatever came up a plenty.
We so enjoy watching these neighbors leading lives few of us remember. We feel honored and privileged to contribute whatever knowledge we possess, although at times we do feel limited..
The Unique Benefits of this House
The uniqueness of living in the mountains is the show of colors with a forever changing sky. It makes us aware we occupy just a tiny amount of space in the vastness of a greater purpose. We feel blessed to share all we have with those coming to occupy it and have to date received more than one hundred guests, who have filled our guest book with wonderful comments.

I enjoyed my stay immensely. The house is beautiful and when I sat on the deck I felt like a bird gliding over the valley. The rushing sound of the creek, the wildlike made it one of the best vacations I have ever had. A welcome change from the hustle and bustle of the city.
