St Simons has so much to offer that it's hard to know where to start. We all love the beach, so that was the first draw, as was the proximity to our home north of Atlanta but we also wanted a "real" home, a "real" community not just a condo-row experience. The community on St Simons is just that and more. Neighborhoods, churches, newcomer's groups, garden club or little theater, there is a place to be part of the rich fabric that is St Simons Island!

After raising our family in Gainesville, Georgia and coming to St Simons for family vacations for some 20+ years, we made the switch a dozen years ago and were soon followed by several our children! We have relished our time at the beach but have also been delighted with the range of other activities available here on St Simons. From biking to kayaking, shopping and sightseeing, there is just not enough time to do it all.

Today we have sat on the deck watching little green and brown lizards, listening to birds and taking in all the beauty of Black Banks. I wonder how it compares to the Garden of Eden? Many places you see pictures of make the place appear better than they are Your pictures understate the beauty of the place both outside and in. Guests are able to remove themselves from the world to one that includes only themselves, and the one they love and memories that last a lifetime. I asked my wife what she would have changed and she said, "Ownership - to us!" We will celebrate our 30th anniversary next March and plan to return to make even more forever memories.

WOW. A complete 180 degrees. We were having a rough trip until we arrived at the Cottage. Kate, you were so helpful, we can't say enough.
