Minutes away you can snowshoe, hike or bike in the Pike National Forest at Kenosha Pass, go trekking through the Lost Park Wilderness Area, go 4-wheeling over Mosquito Pass (the old Stagecoach route to Leadville), enjoy horseback riding or fish in one of 4 area reservoirs, a mountain lake or along the Tarryall river.

There are 5 different lakes and 2 rivers that are nearby for fishing. If you love hiking, Lost Creek Wilderness area is across the road and Lake Jefferson is 7 miles away. You will be centrally located to almost any outdoor activity you can think of from gold panning to ATV trails.

It is central to everything there is to do in the Colorado outdoors as well as dining and shopping.
The Unique Benefits of this Cabin
We are very near Hiking trails in Lost Creek Wilderness, Pike National Forest and Indian Mountain. There is a private sledding hill at Indian Mountain with a park for children which includes an 18-hole frisbee golf course (adults will love this too). If you like fishing you will have trouble deciding which area to go. They are all very near. We have gold medal fishing at Lake Jefferson, Tarrayall Reservoir, Antero Reservoir, Montgomery Reservoir, and Eleven-Mile Reservoir. You can come for a week and never fish the same spot twice. There is 4-wheeling in Boreas Pass, Guanella Pass, Mosquito Pass (the old road to the mining town of Leadville) and Weston Pass. Kite Lake, Montgomery Reservoir, and Mosquito Pass have many old mining towns to explore. If you like shopping, Fairplay has some great stores with everything from cabin decor to beads. The old town of South Park is located in Fairplay and the entire area has just been designated as a federal historical reserve. Breckenridge offers find dining and shopping for everyone. Of course here is also world-class skiing in Breckenridge, Keystone, and even Monarch Pass located to the south. You will be centrally located to so many activities that it is almost indescribable.
