Our unit 307 at Sand Cay is located on the third (and last) floor with cathedral ceilings. It has two bedrooms and two bathrooms, a large dining room and living room, as well as a den we use as an office (with high speed Internet). It has an open design kitchen connected to the living room and dining room. The deck is large, and offers a view of the pool, the garden, and a partial view of the Gulf of Mexico.
We renovated the condo this past year, with new flooring in the living room, dining room, kitchen and bathrooms. We also completely renovated the kitchen, and have repainted all the walls. We also completely renovated the two bathrooms. It looks great and is very clean.
The resort is on the beach, with BBQ pits overlooking the Gulf of Mexico. Beach chairs are provided, as are beach towels, and there is a shower at the beach entrance. It has a heated swimming pool. There are bike paths all along the island. Longboat Key is considered one of the safest areas of Florida.

Relaxing Small Resort on the Beach - Condo on Longboat Key

Why the Owner Chose Sand Cay Beach
We lived for 5 years on the west coast of Florida but we now live in Virginia. We wanted to go back often and we were looking for a nice small resort on Longboat Key or Siesta Key. We found this kind of secluded "completely renovated" resort directly on the beach. We fell in love with the place. We love the long walks on the beach, as well as some sailing on the Gulf of Mexico; so, that was it for us. When we saw the unit we knew it was the right place and the right size, with a casual and relaxing atmosphere.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo
Relaxing, walking, sipping a glass of wine on the beach and watching the sunset is by all mean what we love to do! No matter what the weather is... we enjoy reading a book during a rainy afternoon on our balcony... we like to just relax sitting on the beach and listening to the waves... we like to cook evening meals on the BBQ pits overlooking the Gulf of Mexico. The resort is not crowded with only 60 units, allowing us to enjoy the pool or the beach... this is life!
Nice place to shop, dine, walk around and enjoy the Florida scenery.
A true family adventure with live dolphins, sharks, and many other fish and birds plus an interactive movie with a dolphin rescue team! less than 10 minutes from the resort!

My wife and I enjoyed so much our vacation at Sand Cay that we decided to buy a unit and spend relaxing time at the beach. Sand Cay is directly on the beach. It is a relaxing and safe environment. We walk miles and miles on the beach, simply listening to the waves. One of the best moments is to watch the sunset with a good glass of wine! Other than that, we do roller blade and bicycle on the paved paths. We even shop for groceries with our bicycles sometimes! It is another pace that we love.

Condo complex is great and really caters to families and making you feel right at home. Free DVD's, candy, popcorn and snacks in the office. Paddle board available for rent. Pool clean and plenty of equipment for shuffle board and tennis. Condo was nice, clean and recently updated. View OK, but you can see the beach if you look around some trees. We loved having a kitchen and plently of room to spread out with our family. Would recommend upgrading the master bedroom matress. We love Longboat and have been vacationing here for years. Not touristy at all and plenty of room on the beach to relax. Definately will be back to Sand Cay Resort.

We loved every minute of our Longboat Key vacation. The condo was clean, bright and fresh. The views were amazing. The staff very kind and helpful. The location supreme but you do need a car. We will absolutely be back and we would recommend this condo to anyone.
