This 3200 square foot, home sits on 9 acres of VERY private land, surrounded only by trees, mountains, and the nearby Anahulu Stream. It is a five minute drive or a short walk to some of the most beautiful beaches in the world!
The bottom story (1600 square feet) has private entrances, private patio with dining areas and grill, while the owners occupy the top story, close enough to ask for advice on where to eat, where to surf, where to go for fun! The views are beautiful and panoramic from inside the house and out - no matter where you look you will not see another house, only greenery!
The house is at the end of a private dirt road well off the highway so there is no traffic noise, only the soft sound of the wind in the trees and the waterfall in the garden. The homeowner has a green thumb, so be prepared to be surrounded by lush landscaping and blooming orchids. This fully furnished home is perfect for romantic occasions, family vacations, or holidays with friends.
The home is newish (completed in 1997). Just two minutes from Historic Haleiwa Town (known for its country atmosphere, excellent restaurants and quaint shops, and the previous home of Bay Watch Hawaii! We have views of both the sunrise and the sunset that will take your breath away. You can get away from it all or be in the heart of Waikiki in a quick 40 minutes. It really is the perfect vacation home.
Two huge bedrooms including 2 new queen-size beds, sleeps four adults comfortably. Children or other adults could sleep in parents rooms on an extra futon bed provided or in one of the living areas. The living room has a cable TV/VCR.
A washer and dryer; full kitchen (refrigerator, stove top, sink, microwave,cofee pot, toaster oven, not to mention outside charcoal grill!), half acre yard; LOTS of lanai space - one covered in front of the house that is perfect for barbecuing or relaxing on the swing, and one that wraps around the side of the house which is perfect for sunbathing. Relax in theoutdoor swing and enjoy the gentle tradewinds and birds singing in the secret garden paradise and sound of the waterfall.
Beach mats, boogie boards, fins, beach towels, coolers, and board games are available for adults and children.

The Secret garden was perfect from banana trees and oranges right outside the door toshort walk/drive to Haleiwa. Don and Lenora embody the hawaiin spirit with aloha hospitality. Donald and Lenora's knowledge of the islands made it easy to avoid tourist traps and to reaaly see the parts of Oahu that have made our trip memorable. The condo itself is spacious and modern and very tastefullly decorated. It truly is paradise.

We booked a 10 day family vacation at the end of the summer - an opportunity to gather the 20 and 17 yr olds together and have some family time before the fall schedules and routine took over. Our oldest was a bit skeptical about going on a family vacation but subsequently declared this one of the best vacations ever. Our stay at Secret Gardens was definitely a contributing factor. Everyone really enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere, the easy going presence and helpfulness of the owners, the pets (both a big hit), the easy proximity to Halewii and north shore beaches, use of beach gear, availability of board games, and the peaceful atmosphere. We all remarked on the sense of relaxation that set in once back 'home' after a trip to Honolulu or other destinations.

I stumbled on this Secret Garden while looking for a different noncommercial holiday in Hawaii. I wanted something that felt closer to the local environment. Though Haleiwa is a well known Surfing Hotspot, it still holds a small village atmosphere, something that is so precious in this stressful world. The Secret Garden reflects the healing, stress free atmosphere I was looking for, it’s a home built to respect to the power serenity. It sets off the main throughway and is surrounded by beautiful tropical vegetation, flowers and fruit everywhere. In the morning you arise to the fresh cool breeze carrying the songs of multiple wild birds, soft white low clouds hovers over the mountain tops. As the sun rises in the sky, the day stays serene, untouched by the outside stressful world. By midday, a very light rain baths the greenery and the breeze blows all the patchy clouds out to the sea, it’s like nature is telling you it is time to go to the beach and enjoy what else North shore Hawaii has to offer.

This is a wonderful secluded island paradise. It was perfect for our family with two small children and in-laws. Everyone was able to have their own space. The home and garden is lovely. The landlords are there for advice but not overbearing. They provide so many ammenities, it is truly like staying at home only it's paradise. There is no oven, but a grill, washer and dryer, toiletries, beach towels galore, and tons of beach accesories. We at outside on the lanai everyday-wonderful! It is just a short drive (3 minutes) from the beach and the cutest little surf town, Haleiwa. A highways drive from Honululu. We went for a date night, but knew that we were getting the real Hawaiian experience staying off the beaten path. You will not regret this choice.
