Incredible vacation home!

My husband and I and our two teenage sons just returned from a week in this absolutely beautiful home in La Jolla. The home was so clean and well kept, and the ocean view is unbelievable Alex was so friendly, helpful and attentive to our needs. I have already recommended this home to several of my friends. We enjoyed ourselves so much that we hope to make this an annual vacation destination!

My father, groomsmen, and I all stayed at Alex's house in La Jolla for a week from July 17 - July 24, 2011 before my wedding. The house was absolutely perfect. The views from the house are absolutely stunning and the house was perfect for a large group of people to relax and enjoy La Jolla. Alex was incredible to work with and made sure we had everything that we needed. I would highly recommend staying at this lovely house if you have the chance, you certainly will not be disappointed. While the pictures Alex has posted on this page are great, they don't do the house or the view justice. We were very happy with our choice to stay here.

Thank you for opening your home to our family! :) This was our first trip to La Jolla and hope its the first of many more to come. The home is stunning to say the least and the views are even more amazing in person. Great peaceful location close to the beach and the village both of which we became very familiar with during the week we vacationed there. There's so much to do and see in La Jolla and San Diego, we needed another week. We loved everything about our stay, and can't wait to come back to stay here again soon!!

I brought my two children and parents to this amazing home in January and the pictures of the view DO NOT do it justice. It is truly "breathtaking" in person. The home is gorgeous and has everything!! The beach was beautiful and everything was nearby. If you're looking for a family vacation or romantic getaway this home is the PERFECT place to stay!! We love La Jolla and plan to stay here every year

not quite what we expected

We stayed at this property Christmas Day to New Years day 2010. When we first arrived, we were surprised at a few things pictured on the website that we didn't see in reality. The fish tank was empty and full of algae....(looked like a scene from a scary movie) 4 towels available for 8 people, there weren't plasma TV's through out as advertised, just two, one in master and one in living room, the one in the poolroom had the fixtures to hold it to the wall, but no TV... Kitchen was not that well stocked with supplies,(only one large plastic bowl) although the kitchen itself was great. Light bulbs were burned out throughout the living room, dining room and kitchen (we were told the lights over the sink never worked...) One room only had a bed, no dresser, no night table....only one room had a reading lamp. Closet doors were off runners and limited hangers supplied...hall closets were full of other peoples stuff (junk) No blankets on the beds, just bedspreads, one bed had no mattress cover, so sheets slipped off easily, but the owner did provide a few more towels and blankets when called. Hot water not working on the first day, plumber was called and sorted it out after 2 trips... The owner does not live nearby, so we never saw him. He did take our calls but things were never sorted out completely to our satisfaction. No key to the gas fireplace and no one showed up to find it for us. Overall, it didn't feel like the place was prepared especially for us with comfort in mind. If you are renting this house just for 2 people to use the master bedroom, probably OK, not that great for more people in the other rooms. The views were beautiful from the deck, and location is close to town, but for the money we expected far more from this rental than we received.

Owner response:Factual response to the not so truthful review (first time in 2 1/2years we've received complaints): tentant called the day after check in with several complaints-the lightbulbs throughout the house didnt work,they needed 4 xtra blankets as the blankets on the beds werent warm enough,the pilot to the water heater was out(due to severe storms),and they needed larger sheets for the master bed and more hand towels and washcloths.I spent several minutes on the phone walking her through the home and telling her what light switches turn on the lights and she then discovered that they worked(first time i've had a tenant that couldnt figure out how to turn on the lights in the house).I asked how the down comforter in the master wasnt warm enough and she said it was "too warm" and they need something lighter.She also said they didn't want to turn the heat past 68 because some people liked it cooler than others.She said that the twin bed in one of the rooms was too small for her and her child- there are three queens and one king at the home NO twins.I assume they needed extra blankets for xtra guests not agreed upon in the contract.Regardless,Plumber came out IMMEDIATELY and re-lit both water heaters.Houseclnrs came out that day with brand new blankets, towels(home had 10 bath towels already),and sheets for the king bed.They never complained about the kitchen as it is fully stocked(over stocked in fact)and the statement about two plasma tvs is also untrue.Theres a 50" in the living room,32" wall mounted in the master, and a 20 something" in the second master.All bdrms except for 1 have TVs(3rd bdrm has a regular "non" flat screen),night and all have ceiling,track,or recessed lighting.Closet doors all work. Things "never sorted out" is also 100% untrue as the tenant who actually signed the lease(not the one posting) said that "everything is great" later that day and that they had a wonderful stay after check out.They left the property with the sliding glass door wide open and the heat turned on(in winter).They had no problem with the fireplace as they left wood,dirt,and ashes all around it and on the carpet.They also left the kitchen a mess but were still refunded their entire deposit although they broke several clauses in the lease.Owner was not in town as it was a holiday weekend and spending time with family,but was100% accessible and IMMEDIATELY went above and beyond to take care of everything requested.Any pics of the home can be provided and are 100% accurate

We recently stayed here for about 4 days and everything was GORGEOUS! It was even more beautiful in person. Alex was so easy to work with and was so helpful in arranging the details of our stay. We would DEFINITELY stay here again and recommend this to anyone who is looking for a custom luxury home with breathtaking ocean views! We loved it!
