Location: Closer to Jenner-by-the-Sea and the mouth of the Russian River than our other homes and with a bit more marine influence, this home is still far enough inland to enjoy very sunny summer days. You may well see harbor seals and river otters swimming by and there is an abundance of bird species in this area as well. Duncans Mills, with its fine restaurants, bars, and shops, is just a few minutes drive.
House: Sleeping eight, Amazing Place (~1360 sf) is a substantial three bedroom, two bath, river-front home. A separate glass-enclosed sun porch, with spectacular river views and a queen sleeper, can be closed off to act as a fourth bedroom. Everything in this home is of good quality and designed to enhance the spectacular setting and view this home enjoys. This contemporary wood-and-glass open plan home features an art collection, fine rugs, and lovely paint treatments.
Amazing Place has been substantially remodeled and beautifully furnished and now has new hardwood floors in the living and dining areas. The living room features a wood stove for those chilly winter evenings and a Cable TV with DVD and VCR, and opens onto the deck, where you can luxuriate in your own hot tub under the stars. The upstairs bedrooms, with queen beds, share a completely remodeled bathroom.
Downstairs, the library/bedroom has a queen bed, along with another remodeled bathroom. This home includes wireless high-speed Internet access for those who want to bring laptops.
Grounds: Amazing Place enjoys a magical, tranquil setting with river beach access, river and mountain views, large lawn and redwood trees. River access is easy for the two single kayaks and one double kayak included as part of the rental. There are no fences to separate the lawns of the homes along this stretch, so please respect the rights of adjacent property owners. The lawn area can be traversed to get to the river access, but no tent or tent structures are allowed anywhere on the lawn and, if lawn chairs are set up on the lawn, they must be in front of the home. Dogs must also be confined to the lawn area in front of the home.
Note: parking is limited to three cars.
