Loved the location of the property - just minutes from the boat ramp and very reasonably priced mooring. (There was enough room to park our SUV and boat trailer at the house as well.) The home was exceptionally supplied with everything one could think of, while the owners also surprised us with some fun and unexpected treats. We had a wonderful time on beautiful Lake Shasta and really appreciated the extra effort that was put into this vacation home for our enjoyment. Great vacation for a great value!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, adventure seekers.

Our stay at the "Bearhugger" was one of our best at Shasta. Our only disappointment was the local marina did not have any boat slips, forcing us to use Antler's instead. The home had good quality linens, every kitchen utensil you need (except a spatula) and 3 flat screen tv's. The kids were very comfortable and my father was able to join us and stay in the bedroom below. This was our 2nd stay in this home and I am sure a 3rd is in the near future. Thank you, M. This is our second time trying VRBO for home rentals and again we were very pleased. We normally tent camp at Shasta Lake but this year we decided to splurge and try out renting a home. We were very happy with our choice. The home is very comfortable and felt like our own. It has all the ammenties you could possibly want in the kitchen. Special touches were the welcoming baskets! It's also within walking distance to the lake and the large deck was nice to enjoy a cup of tea each morning. I would highly recommend this home to anyone. Hope to be back next year.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers.

The house was very charming & cozy...we immediately felt at home & relaxed! David & Brenda had the home fully stocked with everything you could possibly need for a home away from home. Very quiet neighborhood with a short walk to the lake...just what we were looking for a weekend away!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway.

About the owner: In the spring of 2008 David and I sat out on the deck on a swing bench and had a beautiful view of the lake, the warmth of the sun and the peacefulness of the area we just knew this was the home we were meant to purchase. We enjoy boating, fishing, walks and sitting down by the lake. Whether it's a barbecue on the spacious deck or an evening gazing at the stars we enjoy it all!
The Unique Benefits at this House:
While there are several resorts in and around lakehead our home is literally a stones throw from Sugarloaf marina and boat launch. If you prefer not to cook while visiting our lake home there are several locally owned restaurants, bars and grills. If you would like to take a short 30 minute ride to Redding you have many options to choose from, plus all the shopping one can do at the Mt. Shasta Mall and other surrounding stores.
