Why the Owner Chose Somers
Views for 50+ miles during the day, black-sky Milky-Way nights, yet only 15 minutes from the airport and Kalispell's and Bigfork's many amenities. This location overlooks the 30-mile long Flathead Lake and the Mission Range and Bob Marshall Wilderness area of the Rocky Mountains. It is quiet and secure, and only 10 minutes from fabulous fishing, 30 minutes from skiing, 45 minutes from Glacier National Park, and a half-day drive from Banff, Yellowstone or Spokane.
The Unique Benefits at this House, Lodge
There is no end to the many nearby blue-ribbon fishing streams, high mountain trails and alpine lakes. Also nearby are numerous golf courses, tennis, horseback riding and other activities. I love to sit by the fireplace on my covered deck, listen to the night sounds, and watch the moon come up over the mountains and lake. Glacier National Park is 45 minutes away, and Yellowstone, Spokane and Banff are a half-day drive away.
Bigfork is an artists' colony with more than 50 eclectic shops, 25 restaurants and 13 art galleries. This picturesque village is also home to the Bigfork Summer Playhouse.
Just 40 minutes to the west entrance of Glacier, the Going to the Sun Road, and access to the Park's many wonders.

Growing up near Mt. Rainier gave me a special appreciation for the beauty and freedom that comes with being in the mountains. An avid fisherman, hiker and camper, I find this place spectacular in all seasons.
