Highs: inexpensive; new; clean; nicely decorated; close to many sightseeing places; very nice rooftop; supermarket on the corner; Chinese restaurant opposite side of the street; close to subway Lows: far from any fancy restaurant; Internet worked very badly; the apartment owners called too often; some basic kitchen devices missing as e.g. coffee machine or wine glassesRecommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car.
Owner response: Sorry about problems, I was on vacation those days and left a friend in charge...Murphy's law...she could not connect properly internet...forgot to replace wine glasses and cofee maker and was a little 'too helpful' About fancy restaurants..there are quite a few in city center, even 5 stars hotels, and one of the best Santiago restaurants: 'OPERA' just in the corner, but normally people prefere others, the surroundings are full of nice italian, spanish, chinese, japanese, many modern cousine restaurants, etc , not very expensive. May be forgot to ask? Elena

Our stay way terrific. Loved the city. The people were very friendly. Our accomodations were lovely. Small but very efficient for 2 people. The kitchen was equipped with everything you needed and very handy being right beside a grocery store. I would recommend this place highly if you want to be in a great location and a very tidy, well kept building. Elena was very efficient in getting back to you and arranged a driver from the airport which was an added bonus to a great trip. 5 starDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

If you are looking for an apartment for a single or couple this is the best place. Located near the subways and bus stop, it's got a supermarket at the first floor. The best thing is nightlife around, you got theaters, pubs, bars and a lot of great places just a few steps away.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

Nice, well-maintained, clean small apartment centrally located in Downtown Santiago, was perfect for one or two people. Two important things for me: Supermarket less than 1 block and laundry on site in building. Elena was a great host- provided information page of her favorite restaurants in the neighborhood, gave her mobile for any questions, even arranged car service from the airport. I'd be happy to return. -Scot PhelpsDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 4/4

This condo was perfectly situated for our 8 day stay in Santiago. The building is central, within easy walking distance of all the sights and only moments away from the metro. The apartment itself was safe, spotless, comfortable and had a terrific view. We had all we needed including fast internet connection. Pati was an added bonus - a charming hostess who helped us to settle in and arranged our transport with the excellent Eduardo. Having a large supermarket in the building just next door was very convenient when we wanted to eat in, but the restaurants nearby are good, especially if you turn right out of the building and head towards Lastarria.Did you find this review helpful? This charming apartment was exactly the home base we needed for our eight-day visit with our daughter studying in Chile. Perfectly appointed, clean and safe for my husband and I to settle in and learn the area. Elena is a warm and welcoming host. Excellent communication, plus she arranged our transport to and from the airport. We really enjoyed being able to walk to many attractions, shop in the supermarket on our block and access great public transportation. I would highly recommend this apartment to anyone.Recommended for: Age 55+, sightseeing, tourists without a car.

We enjoyed our stay at our apartment in Santiago. The apartment is located on the edge of the Centro District, which basically shuts down at night but it is within walking distance to some good restaurants. We walked to and from the neighborhood restaurants at night and felt safe, but we live in Sao Paulo so we are accustomed to city life. You can easily walk to Centro attractions. You do not need to get the red on-off bus tour for downtown. We followed the Lonely Planet walking tour of downtown Santiago and it went right near our apartment. The Metro is also close by and easy and safe to use. Taxis were easy to hail from in front of the condominium even at night. The apartment does not face the street so it is quiet. Our host even had ground coffee for us in the morning. The grocery store right next door with an ATM was also convenient. I will definitely recommend this to a friend but I would tell them the location is close to Centro which has its advantages (near to major tourist attractions) and disadvantages (closes down at night). Our host was very helpful and had information for us on some tourist things and restaurants at the apartment. There is also 24 hour security at the apartment. We were quite happy with the extra room that an apartment gave us. The apartment and the condominium was clean and secure. The photos in the listing represent the apartment accurately.Recommended for: Age 55+, sightseeing, tourists without a car.

The apartment served as my home for 2 weeks from late January to early February. The central location makes it easy to get to a lot of places in the city and beyond. There are two subways close enough to walk to. The bus stations are only a few stops away if you are considering a trip to Vina/Valparaiso. And within walking distance are most of the downtown attractions (St. Lucia, Belle Artes, outdoor pedestrian malls, Plaza de Armas, Lastarria, Centro Mercado). The park along the river is a great place to go running. The modern Lider supermarket is right next door. And there are a number of mediocre to decent restaurant options nearby. It wasn’t a problem finding places that had wifi either. If you want to have a range of experience in Santiago to get the full tourist/living experience, I would recommend this place. If you want to be just in an upscale comfortable area, then I would recommend probably going more toward Providencia/Las Condes. The apartment is small, but well-laid out. The broadband internet speed is reasonable (1mb down/600k up). It was nice having English language BBC and CNN on the TV. The laundry in the building is convenient though I did have issues with the vending machine for the laundry tokens. Had to get the concierge (24 hr service) to help me. The gym was the only area where I was disappointed. The apartment is high enough up on the interior side that noise was not that much of an issue. Though, you aren’t high enough up to have much of a view. The rooftop access was nice with a great view though. Elana was a great host. Got me settled quickly and gave me a nice guide/map to get started.Recommended for: Age 55+, adventure seekers, sightseeing, tourists without a car.

In December my husband and I spent two weeks in this Santiago apartment. The apartment had almost everything we needed for our stay and when we needed a bathmat and an iron, Elena made certain it was provided immediately. The building seems fairly new and the apartment was clean and well appointed. A big plus was the Lider market right next door. Another plus was the excellent laundry room with new washing machines and dryers and a great view of Santiago. The bed was more than comfortable and, with the exception of a dog that barked in the early evening, we were able to have a very quiet sleep away from noises of the street. The dog must have gone to sleep early as we didn't hear him throughout the night. There were several good restaurants in the area - check out The Clinic - and we were in walking distance of the main plaza and the Cathedral. Elena was very helpful and we are sorry that we couldn't see more of her. This was our second visit to Santiago, our first in this apartment, and if we return we would certainly stay in this apartment again.Recommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing, tourists without a car.
