What is truly unique about this charming cottage is its location close to the ocean - you can walk, bike or drive to the ocean in minutes - with a four wheel drive you are permitted on the beach, some restrictions apply. The three bedroom cottage is reminiscent of the Sconset Cottages in its H shaped design - allowing private wings on both sides of the house along with private baths. The master bedroom with queen bed has a large walk in closet and French doors open to your private deck. The master bath has been completely renovated this year to include an old fashion claw foot tub for soaking and a separate large shower using fixtures that are exquisitely made by Perins & Rowe of England.
The cottage is comfortable and relaxed and easy since it is on one level. Cathedral ceiling encompasses living room, dining area and fully equipped kitchen with French doors to private deck. Wide pine floors and brick fireplace complete this Nantucket cottage. The back deck has outside furniture and a enclosed shower when you come back from the beach. Cottage is completely furnished, just bring your bathing suits. There are beach chairs and a cooler for the beach and sundry other beach items for your use. There is a shed for storage of bikes, beach chairs, etc.
The families that have rented in the past keep coming back year after year because it is their home away from home. They and their children leave boogie boards, fishing poles, coolers, etc. here for their return the following year. I have developed a special relationship with them and treat them like family. Rental rates are per week; Saturday to Saturday rentals starting mid-June.

Nantucket Cisco Beach - Charming Summer Cottage
Year Purchased: 1994
Why the Owner Chose Cisco
LOCATION - LOCATION - LOCATION If your going to be staying on this beautiful, pristine island with over 50 miles of beaches, you want to get as close to the beaches as possible. The cottage is one level and very easy to live in - it is typical Nantucket with pine wood floor, fireplace and cathedral ceilings and full of island charm.
The Unique Benefits at this Cottage
One of the benefits aside from the great beaches is that you are a short distance to Nantucket Center - about 2.5 miles - it is a short bike ride and a shorter trip by car. Another benefit of this location is having the largest pond on the island across a street from the cottage. There is a public access to Hummock Pond across the street from you - permitting sail boats, kayaks, canoes, etc.. on its scenic waterway. It connects with the ocean to the south. There are shore birds galore on this south side of the island. Beautiful ocean sunsets from this vantage point.
Owner's Map of Cisco
I bought this cottage because it was a short walking distance to the Atlantic Ocean surf beaches. The cottages is year round and tucked away with pine trees and rose rugosa bushes. There is a large private side yard on half-acre lot. Within one mile is Bartlett's Farm - the largest vegetable farm on the island with groceries , bakery, deli, nursery, etc.; Cisco Brewery/Winery/Distiller; a fabulous fresh fish market; and only 2.5 miles to Main St. Yet it is very quiet out here in Cisco on the south shore facing the Atlantic Ocean. The walk to the beach takes you through unspoiled conservation land to some of the best beaches on Nantucket if not the world!

Our family and dog, Bailey, enjoyed every minute of our stay on the island. The house was in perfect condition, and the plantings and new front entry are lovely. Our days were spent swimming at our favorite beaches, fishing, buying marbles at the Toy Box, checking out the Sunken Ship, and of course, buying lots of Nantucket Bread from Something Natural and fresh tomatoes from the farm. My son cooked some delicious dinners on the grill and we enjoyed them on the deck. Bailey couldn't wait to run down the dirt road to Cicso and jump over the waves. At the end of the day we could take a relaxing shower, and look for shooting stars while sitting out back. Thank you so much! Can't wait until next year.

We absolutely loved the cottage - it turns out that following the dirt road directly to the beach landed us at the beach we always went to when I was growing up. I instantly fell in love w/ the house and the feel. We had many fun dinners and lots of hang time on the deck when we weren't at the beach. Thanks for making it so comfortable! Jackie

I stayed for two weeks in July and it was wonderful!! - the cottage is enchanted and very comfortable - it had everything I needed just like home and very clean. The ocean was a short walk from the cottage - what a wonderful beach = clean and uncrowded - I've made my reservations for next year already!!
