Beautiful spacious warm mountain home in a forest setting, the only home on a cul de sac. Step out the front door to hiking, mountain biking, creek trails and winter sledding and cross country. This property is newly remodeled inside, and features high ceilings and windows, great room with fireplace, dining room, and open kitchen with bar seating for five and table seating for six. There is a sleeping loft, a finished attic with tv/video/games and sleeping space. The attached guest house features a second kitchen, family room, bedroom with queen sized bed and full bathroom.
The deck with forest views is wonderful for outdoor meals and other social gatherings. Relax in the large hot tub looking out to the sledding hill behind the property. Wildlife can often be seen while relaxing on the deck or in the hot tub. Lake views will be seen while hiking behind the house or in the neighborhood.
We welcome you for vacations, family reunions, retreats, off-site meetings, we've done it all with much memory making. South Lake Tahoe offers endless opportunities for entertainment; boating, skiing, sailing, beaches, casino nightlife, biking, hiking, sledding all a few minutes away if not out the door.

Why the Owner Chose Montgomery Estates
Our family is connected to South Lake Tahoe as Karl was raised here, attended South Lake Tahoe High School. We began bringing our three young sons here to visit the relatives and it has become our "second home" and we extend this home to you for vacation, offsite, retreat, family reunions.
The Unique Benefits at this House
Our Mountain Home is situated in a forest setting in Montgomery Estates. The walking trail along Cold Creek offers beautiful views and exercise opportunities. There is access out the door to Powerline Mountain Bike Trail and Heavenly Valley Ski Resort, Beaches, Casinos, are all within a ten minute drive. We have a guest house complete with a second kitchen, hot tub overlooking the forest, sledding hill right behind the house, deck with picnic tables and bear and coyote viewing.
Here you will find access to Powerline Mountain Bike Trail, Hiking to High Meadows (strenuous) or to Beaver Bridge and a Cold Creek Trail (easy), Cross Country Ski and Snowmobile access
Behind the house access to Cold Creek with hiking/biking/running trails along Cold Creek, Powerline, and a couple mile trail to Heavenly Valley. Snow sledding all around the house.
This is a great beach and restaurant. Check schedule for outdoor live bands and scheduled tours and activities at the Tallac Historic Site.

If you choose to ride the Gondola you will arrive at the lookout point for non skiers and the next stop you will arrive at the sledding hill and be able to access both California and Heavenly Ski and
Both Boulder Lodge where you can rent and join ski school, and Stagecoach Express Lift, no ski school access here, can be accessed up Kingsbury Grade. The views from this area include Carson Valley

Such a great rental! Even with no snow!

This cabin is a great stay. Extremely clean, well kept, and feels like home. At first we were a little bummed that there would be no snow in Tahoe in January, but much to our surprise we still had a fantastic time! Four days of nonstop action! In the backyard of the cabin are some incredible hiking paths. The local resort Heavenly produced man-made snow, so there was still 27 available runs for snowboarding and skiing, and also an adventure park for tubing and sledding. The gondola ride to the top of the mountain had breathtaking views. We had a great time at the casinos because they were not packed. We even got lessons on how to play craps and black jack. We visited great restaurants with great food and great bloody mary's! We ice skated and enjoyed the beautiful weather outdoors. All of this was within 10 minutes of the cabin. Highly recommended!

A Great Winter Trip

Just returned this week from a 3 day weekend stay. My family and friends had a great time! There were 6 adults and 4 young children and all found things they enjoyed. The kids will love the sledding hill just off the deck and the adults will love the fact they will not have to drive to a snow park. Wonderfully decorated home as you feel as if you are staying at a friend's house rather than a rental. Secluded enough for privacy yet close to all conveniences in case they are needed. Didn't use the hot tub on the deck, but saw that it was warm, clean and inviting. One of the best features of this property (as there are many) is that there is the attached seperate living space will full kitchen and bathroom which is very unique. I usually stay at Harrahs but decided to try something different this trip and I am happy I did. Thank you again Kathy for the opportunity to enjoy your home and for taking care of all details!

My friends and I were extremely fortunate to have the opportunity to stay at Kathy & Karl's wonderful South Tahoe Cabin. It was very cozy with two kitchens and enough sleeping area for 10 people. The jacuzzi was a treat for us after a long day on the lake jet skiing, water tubing and wake-boarding. Another great thing about the cabin was the patio...we spent our breakfast and dinner out in the huge patio that had two picnic tables and a BBQ grill. If you are thinking about a Tahoe get-a-way I would greatly recommend Kathy & Karl's Cabin. Will definitely stay here again!!!

I would like to personally thank the owners of this property for making it availble for the rest of us to enjoy. I have stayed in dozens of places in Tahoe up and down the price chain, and I can say without question this is the best place I have stayed at. Most places are clearly rental properties when you arrive (typically well kept, but not aesthetically "warm"). From the minute you set foot into this house, it becomes ovbious that this is someone's home being made availabe for you to stay in. Plenty of room here, great amenities, and perfect location (minutes from everything but off the main roads). I will definitely be staying here again. Thanks for enabling a great weeked!

A group of friend and I stayed there for Memorial Day Weekend and it was fantastic! The place is huge and has some much character. Between the living room, the loft area, the guest house and the jacuzzi in the back, the place was so cozy and unique. The location is great as well. In less than 10 min, you can be at stateline. Just a great location. I highly recommend to anyone!

We stayed here for 4 days in February. We had a fantastic time and teh home is great. It is warm and inviting as you walk in and the fireplace kept us toasting during the stay. The kids had a fantastic time on the sledding hill literally outside the back door. We will be staying here next year !

We stayed here for a few days in June to celebrate 1) daughter's 16th birthday, and 2) other daughter's high school graduation. Each brought a couple of friends and there was ample room for all. The area is beautiful, the location is excellent, the home is lovingly decorated and it is obvious many memories have been made here! The hot tub on the back deck was a real plus - especially after our long hike on the trails just a few blocks from the house. Enjoy!
