Nice unit, good owner, unfriendly management

Stayed here the first week of July 2011. Decent communication from a good owner, nice enough place. The condo management was not so great, however. Hassled us about parking, hostile towards our kids & their friends. To be fair, they caused (extremely minor) damage to a ~$100 plastic poolside storage box, but the staff's reaction was over the top. Actually sent a picture to the owner, when they could have just snapped it back together in two seconds. When we were there, only 5 or 6 units in the entire development had been sold in its 2-year existence. Kind of easy to see why. Feel bad for the unit owner; he's a decent guy.

Great location and very nice unit ..However, the unit is NOT set up to accomodate 2 couples. There are not 2 beds. There is one bed in the main bed room and a pull out couch - double- in the den rather than the 2nd bed room. There are no drawers for clothing in either the second bedroom or den and no closet in the den which is set up as second bedroom. There is insufficient lighting in the unit - in the living room as well as bedrooms.
Owner response:Thank you for your comments as they are appreciated and taken seriously to try and improve everyone's experience. To clarify some of your points, the unit was described in detail prior to rental, including the configuration of the bedrooms and den. The den is set up more for a play area for kids and a pullout couch was added for convenience with larger families. There is a stand in the den for clothing or other items, and a full closet in the second bedroom to store clothing if necessary. There is standard lighting in all the units that is more than sufficient. A second side lamp in the bedroom could be added for those who prefer full lighting when the main light is off.

Just completing a week rental. A few things could make it a much better stay. Only one bedside lamp in the whole unit - we like to read in bed. A proper bed in the 3rd bedroom rather than a pull out couch. That room would only be used as a bedroom the way it is set up, so a proper bed is in order. An iron and ironing board should be available. We needed that! And one set of bunk beds is broken, so if needed it has to be on the floor. Better (or more) pillows are needed, especially for the convertible bed. A bigger teapot for tea drinkers. The location, pool and beach are great with young children. Walkable to town and Hayes Park.
Recommended for:Sightseeing, families with young children.
