The cabin's location, providing direct access and frontage to the Toccoa River and Cooper's Creek, singles this out as the most unique property in the area. If you enjoy trout fishing, you'll be in the perfect spot to catch some beautiful trout. It adjoins (across both streams)thousands of acres of beautiful National Forest. Enjoy the spectacular views. If you just need a getaway for relaxing, you can sit on the porch swing on the back deck and watch the river cascade down the white water into beautiful pools. The sound of the river, alone, is enough to encourage you to relax and rest in this serene setting. This property is isolated and very private and provides the perfect "get away". Hammock provided. First off, Fannin County has recently been named "Trout Capital of Georgia". A big accomplishment considering the trout waters available in all of North Georgia. Part of that designation came about because of the Toccoa River and Coopers Creek. You will literally be staying at the confluence of these two waters.
Trout Fishing in Fannin County, Georgia
According to Georgia Outdoor News, the Toccoa River is one of the region's rivers that hold the characteristics required for anglers to find big trout. Serious trout fishermen know that there is serious trout fishing in Fannin County not only in the Toccoa, but in Rock Creek, Cooper Creek and Noontootla Creek. The Georgia Department of Natural Resources publishes a comprehensive trout fishing guide to Georgia, available at the Welcome Center. Below are some suggestions for simple access to great trout fishing in Fannin County.
TOCCOA RIVER: The Toccoa is stocked above Blue Ridge Dam about every other week during trout season. Most of it is on private land, but much of the section along Rt. 60, near the town of Margaret, flows through National Forest. The river below the dam is very broad in most areas, making it a good choice for fly fishermen. Trout are also stocked regularly in this section. A popular way to fish this area is to float-fish from the dam downstream approximately 15 miles to McCaysville. Use caution. Water levels can rise suddenly. Check dates and times for water releases from Blue Ridge dam.
COOPER'S CREEK: Hwy. 60 South between Morganton and Dahlonega. This area offers camping, hiking and trout fishing. Fishing in Cooper Creek and Mulky Creek for stocked and wild trout is popular. From Blue Ridge, take Highway 76 east to Morganton; turn right on Hwy. 60 south toward Dahlonega for 16 miles. Turn left on Forest Service Road 4 for 6 miles.
The cabin has three bedrooms: 1 queen, 2 fulls, 1 full, and a day-bed on the main floor.
If you want to play golf or tennis, Brasstown Valley Resort hosts an 18-hole championship course in a magnificent mountain setting that is both challenging and fun. Brasstown also has a new spa facility that everyone is talking about, along with horseback riding, tubing, kayaking, and endless exercise and hiking opportunities.
Shopping your thing? Then, you are within easy distance (25 minutes) of multiple antique shops, galleries and "things" stores and you can shop till you drop. There are loads of restaurants from sandwich shops to fine dining.
If you want a vacation that you won't soon forget, this is the place to go. Our guest book is ready for you to add your experience along with those who have made comments (and fishing holes/secrets), so go ahead and book this to delight your family or to be alone with a good book.

A RESOLUTION!
Recognizing Fannin County, Georgia, as the Trout Capital of Georgia; and for other purposes.
This is one of the best trout streams in Georgia, and is also home to the endangered "Hellbender". Last count, there were 12 in Georgia, and they were located here!
Another great trout stream. Just a few of the trout in this area are: Rainbow, German Brown, and Brook Trout. You can also let the kids pan for gold! They LOVE that!
