Mimosa Bend Cottage is a quaint, cozy retreat to get away to for refreshing and relaxing mind, body and spirit. The cottage is tastefully decorated and has lots of windows to enjoy the view of the river, wildlife and nature.
Since we are located right on the river the cottage is elevated so you will feel like you are in a big tree house! We strive to keep our cottage as clean and well cared for as possible.
Just off the great room is a large deck overlooking the river with a table/chairs and gas grill. There is even a tree growing up through the deck that is home to a hummingbird feeder that is a popular feeding spot for the little critters. A great place to read or sit and appreciate this quiet little part of God's Country.
You will have your own private beach that is concreted and has steps into river for easy access. The beach is a fantastic place to launch a canoe, kayak, tube, or sunning.
The swimming hole is a fun place to take a dip in the cool water or just anchor out in the river and float your cares away on a tube or float. Maybe you would like to sit on the beach and soak up some sunshine or drop a line in the river and do a little fishing.
We invite you to come and enjoy this "Peaceful Side of the Smokies."
New updates for 2011 season include new flooring throughout, remodeled bath and wireless internet.

Owner's Profile
Why the Owner Chose Townsend
As was the cottage inherited so was a great love of this side of the Great Smoky Mountains and especially the Little Tennessee River. We appreciate the peacefulness of Townsend and the friendly laid back attitude of this small town and its people.
The Unique Benefits of this Cottage
Our favorite things would be to just see the sight and hear the sounds of the river flowing by. Some mornings and late afternoons we might see a big Blue Heron gliding by or maybe stopping in for a little fishing expedition. This is also a favorite time to see geese and ducks traveling by. We keep a couple of hummingbird feeders that we have placed in good spots for viewing them dropping by for a drink too. A few times a bear or dear has been spotted nearby. We also enjoy the beach while sunning, reading or just relaxing. Trout fishing is by far Mr. Watson's favorite thing to enjoy!

The owner told us when we booked that this was not a luxury cabin. My wife and I beg to disagree. The owner was being humble. "Luxury" is in the eye of the beholder. While we did not have to pay for a jacuzzi, etc. the luxuries were a spotless cabin, a very well stocked and equipped kitchen, eating out on the deck for every meal of our stay, wonderful nights of sleep, and awakening to the crispness of the air and a great blue heron flying down the river. Add to this the peaceful evenings out by the river and the trip was complete. Lord willing, my wife and I plan to return hopefully many times.

Will definately be back!

We FINALLY had a family vacation, that was just that...a vacation!! The Mimosa Bend is perfect for a small family or couple!! We had the most wonderful time wading, fishing, and tubing, and it didn't cost us a small fortune like times before in Pigeon Forge. The cottage is nicely decorated, nicely furnished, and well kept! Extremely clean and neat! Only problem we had was my husband is 6'5"...he had a bit of a struggle in the small shower. Which actually made for a comedic event with him in the bedrooms and bathroom! :) Overall, our visit was perfect, and we will definately be back. Thanks so much for sharing your lovely place with us!!!! Kevin, Kristi, Maddie, Wanda, Rod, and Tori

We had the most wonderful weekend at Mimosa Bend. The cabin is like being in a tree house overlooking the Little River. It is cozy, relaxing, and a perfect place to visit with family and friends. We enjoyed roasting marshmallows in the fire pit and riding our bikes. We didn't want to leave.

We had a great weekend staying at your cottage. We appreciate the way it was clean and nicely decorated. Our grand daughters age 6 and 7 had fun playing in the river during the day and having a fire in the firepit at night. Great cottage.

Wonderful little cottage. It is so quite and peaceful. Also, clean as a pin. We have been coming to the Townsend area for over 20 years and this is one of the best places we have stayed. It is truly just like being in a treehouse. The river was as lovely as could be and it lulled us to sleep at night. Anyone who stays here will be so glad they did. Thanks so much Donna for sharing your little piece of heaven with us. Betsy Humphreys
