  Just returned from a wonderful Labor Day weekend at the Creek Side Escape. Perfect location...secluded but easy driving into Woodstock for groceries, etc. Owners on the property are very friendly and helpful without being intrusive. We loved grilling at night and sitting out by the fire pit. Mornings were peaceful on the deck, and the outdoor shower was great after a long day of hiking! Cozy cabin, but plenty of space for the weekend with the two of us and our dog. Great skylight in the lofted bedroom that opened up to the night air, and great wood interior. Can't wait to go back!!

  Our first VRBO deal, the place is really nice and it was a great break from the formalities of hotel renting like strict check in/out times, parking validations, waiting in line, the morons in the next room, etc. The cabin is basically in the owners' back yard yet it is 100% private so it's the best of both worlds of privacy and security. We never even locked-up at night or when we went into town. Our small dog had a blast running around in the woods looking for critters to chase. The creek is real nice and if you don't chicken-out from the cold water like I did there's even a hole right by the cabin deep enough to get naked in, speaking of which the outdoor shower ROCKS ! The only caution I could mention is that you have to climb a stairway that's more like a ladder to get to the loft bedroom. It was not a problem for us but if you have trouble getting around you might find it difficult and have to sleep on the futon downstairs instead of the cool loft. The place is way nicer in-person than can be shown in the photos, and we would not hesitate to go again.

  By Nathan Beautiful scenery, cozy cabin by a quiet creek with all you need to get by (even WIFI!). We used the grill every night and ate under the stars. The owner Dave is very friendly and welcoming. He has great advice on local hikes and swimming holes. We didn't want to leave and can't wait to go back. .

  Awesome!, September 26, 2010 By Ken, (New York, New York) My wife and I and our dog stayed at the cabin for 3 nights and fell in love with the place. The cabin is small and very cozy and it's next to a creek in the middle of the woods. It was so refreshing to be out of the crowded, noisy city for a few days. The outdoor, heated shower (great idea Dave and thanks!) was just amazing that I was even using it on chilly days and nights. The owners, Dave and his wife were just the nicest people you'll ever meet. Dave gave us so much information on places to go that we did not have enough days to see them. We highly recommend this cabin and we will definitely be back.

  We Didn't Want to Leave!, May 31, 2011 By Alisa The cabin and property was as pictured and described, but even better and more charming in person. We would definitely like to book another stay sometime soon. We really overpacked as everything was provided (except for food, clothing and toiletries of course). David, the owner, was pleasant and accommodating throughout the entire rental process. Great stay, we just wish we had arranged to stay longer! .

  Wonderful Escape!, June 7, 2011 By Robbi (New York, NY) We loved staying in this cabin! Such a nice get away & to be able to sleep with the windows open and hear the stream was amazing. David was a great host - ready to share information and resources about the area but not intrusive at the same time! It was great talking with him and we look forward to returning! The only negative was that we couldn't be there longer! we will definitely be back! .
