Fabulous hosts with great advice about the surrounding areas and places to visit. Our kids had such fun exploring the place and especially playing in the shallow river. With early hikes in the park each morning and lazing by the pool in the afternoon it was a perfect holiday for us and our 3 children. Thanks for sharing your idyllic place with us.

We spent a week at Riverside Cabin while vacationing in Yosemite (parents + toddler), and loved it! The house is located on a large, beautiful stretch of forest property, complete with river, fishing hole, bridge, swimming pool, hot tub, sandbox, trampoline, lawns, and just about anything you'd need to have fun without leaving the property (especially if you go there with young kids). This is a very unique and fun vacation spot. The house itself is comfortable, with a nice porch for outdoor dining and play; we cooked most meals at the house. The owners are very friendly and warm, they gave us lots of good advice about where to go and what to see, shared fun stories about the beautiful artwork on the property, and in general make sure that everyone's stay is comfortable and memorable. Yosemite Valley is about 45 minutes away, but it feels much shorter due to the frequent scenic views. We'd definitely stay here again!
Owner response:Lisa, it was a pleasure having your family stay with us. Thanks for sharing all the things you found special, it does help others to get a feel for what is in store for them when they decide to rent with us. Looking forward to having you agian! Warm regards, Deb, Peter & Jasper

My wife & 3 sons stayed in early July for 5 days. It was perfectly remote. The only people who would go there are guests, so it is VERY quiet. It is also close to Hetch Hetchy, an often overlooked jewel of Yosemite. The cabin was just right. It has the necessary creature comforts to avoid roughing it, but it has the solitude of camping, such as a babbling brook & 1,000,000 stars at night. There's no cable, but a great selection of movies on DVD to enjoy. The hosts are gracious. The pool is a nice treat. Groveland is a 20 minute drive away for groceries. I can't wait to go back & can't recommend Riverside highly enough. Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You turn in from the road to a dirt track and begin to wonder if you've made a wrong turn somewhere but just about a quarter mile in... A huge thank you to Peter for making us feel completely at home. When we arrived at SW, Peter directed us to our cabin and showed us around. I think we became instant friends. Later we found out that he had directed us to the wrong cabin! Although we had to move, he handled it wonderfully and delicately. Everything got sorted out quickly, and after an awe-inspiring day at Yosemite, we came back to the right cabin (with all our things moved for us!) Everything was perfect. Spinning Wheel is a serene and beautiful place. A gem in the wilderness. This is the place for us... Very charming, a little rustic, and completely homely, just the way we like it. We hope to visit often.
Owner response:Thanks Kevin- You've got a gracious and forgiving heart...and we did become instant friends. Deb and I feel lucky to be here and enjoy the folks who come to visit. It's our pleasure to provide a unique "California Yosemite Experience" for our guests. Warm Regards, Peter and Deb Barsotti - Jasper too!

My husband and I, along with our two boys stayed here this June (2010) and couldn't have asked for a better place to stay or better hosts! The pictures on this page don't do the cabin or property justice! Pete and Deb were always available to answer questions both before our stay and during. This cabin is quite secluded and made for a wonderful retreat! It's fully stocked with all the necessities, pots and pans, and everything else you may need. The cabin was immaculately cleaned and newly renovated. Our boys absolutely loved being able to explore outside and down by the river without feeling like they were bothering anyone. The hamock made for a wonderful place to relax and read after long hikes in Yosemite. You certainly won't go wrong by staying in this incredible cabin!
Owner response:Wow Stacey! Thanks, we're so glad you had such a good time. It's great you took the trouble to do this review, we really appreciate it! We were just surprised by the last 2 guests that stayed in other houses over the last 2 days; the Sun House and the River House, both wanted to extend their stays beyond what they had booked. I guess we must be doing something right. We're always happy when our guests are happy. It was great having you at Spinning Wheel Yosemite! Thanks again and All the best! Deb and Peter
