My husband and I have always been entranced by the lure of the sea, the surf and sun-drenched beaches. We traveled the Caribbean extensively and fell in love with Puerto Rico 20 years ago. Our love affair continues to this day. We never tire of the graphic scenery of the Puerto Rican mountains, the endless lush greenery contrasting with the beautiful Caribbean Sea. We love the island. It is diverse and dynamic, a virtual playground of fun things to do. Rich in history, beautiful beaches and delectable cuisine, we explore new adventures most every vacation. We take special satisfaction in family vacations where everyone can enjoy just what they want to do. Sometimes we enjoy a peaceful vacation, reading, walking, beachcombing and soaking up the ambiance of a relaxed life. Regardless of what we do (or don’t do), we always absolutely love it. Why the Owner Chose Humacao
Although we had owned elsewhere on the island, we chose Palmas because it is truly a tropical oasis. This most prestigious residential resort has beautifully luxuriant and immaculate landscaping with all the amenities right at-hand. We sought a location with open vistas of the sea and mountains. We wanted to open up our home to feel the gentle trade wind breezes and hear the waves roll onto the beach. The climate is a near perfect average 82 degrees. Brilliant sunny days and soothing breezes, interspersed with short tropical showers and rainbows, are followed by cooler glorious nights. We found our dream location in Shell Castle Club neighborhood. The panoramic vistas are continually breathtaking. From the balconies, discover how many colors the sea can display. An added bonus: just a short walk from our door are two unspoiled golden beaches, fringed with swaying palms and striking boulders strewn at the ends. They are great places to walk, beach comb, and shell a little, or read a novel amidst the natural beauty. This home is our special retreat and our retirement dream. It is a perfect seaside getaway that you can make your “home away from home”.
The Unique Benefits of this Townhouse
Unique opportunities are what make our home so special. We are early risers, so at dawn we sip rich Puerto Rican coffee on the garden roof terrace watching spectacular sunrises over Vieques Island. On lazy days, we select one of the nearby Palmas beaches for a leisurely afternoon of beaching. Down near the marina is the “catch of the day” where you pick your own fresh fish and the locals serve you by the sea. We also enjoy casual Palmas dining at Caracoles, Carpaccio, La Brochette and the Country Club. As sundown approaches we await the chorus of coquis (tiny PR tree frogs)to start their cheerful singing. Soon dusk gives way to twilight. With nightfall comes glorious starry skies. Skies so clear that your favorite constellation seems reachable and the Milky Way is seen arching in the night sky. As we watch the crescent moon glide across the sky, we can fall asleep on the terrace lounges, sometimes for the night. Morning brings awakening on the terrace to song birds chirping sweetly. We vacation here several times a year, always captivated by the ambiance of our paradise by the sea. And always, we return stateside refreshed with new and enduring memories.
