Summer Vacation Disaster--Disastro

UNA VISTA STUPENDA SULLA BAIA DI MENTON....... Peccato però, che l'appartamento si trovi su tre livelli, infatti, una volta entrati in casa ci si ritrova su di un minuscolo pianerottolo e volendo raggiungere la cucina, uno alla volta si debba percorrere in discesa una rampa di scale ripida e molto stretta, facendo molta attenzione a non sbattere la testa data l'altezza del soffitto, immaginatevi di farlo con un bimbo tra le braccia o con delle borse. Giunti in cucina si potrà notare uno splendido pavimento del XVI sec. rappezzato alla meglio e ricoperto da una resina vetrificante che sfaldandosi crea delle lamine taglienti, devastanti, qualora qualcuno si avventurasse a piedi scalzi per il locale. Adiacente alla cucina si trova il bagno cieco con la doccia, munito di ventola di aspirazione che andrebbe sostituita perché, probabilmente, della stessa epoca del pavimento della cucina, non aspira e quindi è perennemente presente un odore di fognatura “o forse abbiamo noi il naso troppo sensibile”. Ancora tre gradini e siamo in zona giorno, dove il meraviglioso pavimento fa si, che ci sia sabbia sparsa per la casa, “quasi quasi non andiamo nemmeno in spiaggia i castelli li possiamo fare qui”. Attenzione ai remi sulla parete non sono fissati in modo sicuro potreste ritrovarveli sulla testa. Ormai è ora di andare a nanna, risaliamo i tre gradini, risaliamo la prima rampa di scale, siamo sul pianerottolo, chiudiamo bene la porta d’ingresso (la aprirebbe un bambino con una spallata “XVI sec”) e affrontiamo la scala per la zona notte, ancora più stretta e ripida della precedente, sempre con in braccio il piccolo, ci si deve abbassare per infilarsi sotto gli ultimi gradini e raggiungere il letto, ma non è finita, anche qui un insieme di gradini e falsi piani, mettono a rischio le caviglie. Dimenticavo non ci si sta in piedi in camera perché il soffitto è molto basso ( ci è stato detto dalla proprietà che in Francia non è come in Italia, non esistono regolamenti edilizi o d’igiene uno può ricavare locali dove vuole senza problemi). Vabbèh ... ci siamo fidati e come al solito.... fidarsi è bene ma non fidarsi ... Chiedo solamente una cortesia ai proprietari, quella di non scrivere cose non vere pur di affittare, perché altrimenti viene la voglia di verificare se veramente in Francia uno possa rendere abitabile qualsiasi “cosa”.....IF YOU'D LIKE THIS IN ENGLISH PLEASE ASK...IF YOU HAVE KIDS DON'T RENT THIS APARTM..HOLES IN FLOOR, SEWAGE SMELL AND 4 FOOT CEILING IN BEDRM

Wow, wow and WOW

Menton offers the best of French and Italian cultures and cuisine! With this fabulous roomy apartment overlooking the beach, it was a fabulous start to our holiday. Raffaella is a wonderful and very helpful hostess, and was always available for questions, and assistance... especially when Air France lost our bags! We had a rental car, and took day trips to St. Agnes, Sospel, Roquebrune-Cap-Martin, and Monte Carlo. One day trip to Ventimiglia where our car was towed (not so fun) and they only towed the rentals with French plates on them... local cars remained... the police station was packed with tourists... cost us 71 euros for the ticket, and 100 euros to the towing company, which we suspect is the police commissioner's cousin.

This is without a doubt the coolest place we have ever stayed! The location could not be better, literally steps to the heart of the historic center with all its shops, restaurants, markets, etc. The beach is right across the street with more restaurants and everything imaginable with regard to water activities. The apartment itself has such a great feel to it, so comfortable yet so very unique indeed. Last but certainly not least is the host Raffaella who must be the sweetest lady on the planet. She is truly the icing on this very tasty cake!
