Why the Owner Chose St. Helena
I bought the property in 2002, and while I was trying to figure out what style of house to build, I went on a holiday to Tuscany. I like to think of the vacation as "Research and Development." I returned with a very clear picture of what I wanted, and I knew I wanted to incorporate authentic Italian elements. I went back to Florence where I purchased the terra cotta tiles for the roof; I found the front door in Verona. I am very fortunate to have built my dream house, but I travel often and would prefer to have someone else enjoying it in my absence. This is such an enchanting property, I am happy to share it with those who don't live in the Napa Valley.
The Unique Benefits of this House
I designed the house with lots of windows that open up to the outdoor courtyard, pool, Bocce ball court, and vineyards. Although the inside of the house is furnished with comfortable, stylish accommodations, the outside is where guests spend most of their time. The sound of the Infinity pool, the birds, the beautiful views, and being able to cook your dinner on the grill and dine al fresco--it's priceless!
