Located on the shore of Flathead Lake, a prime sailing and fishing location, this home is the perfect summer rental for those seeking all the activities Flathead Lake has to offer in the spring, summer and fall months and easy access to local ski areas in the winter. The area offers a beautiful, moderate climate, a variety of restaurants and cultural events (Bigfork, home of the Bigfork Summer Theatre is a 30 minute drive), and the finest nature has to offer!
A number of festivals are held during the summer months from Polson to Whitefish. All are within an enjoyable drive from Dayton. Dayton is also home to the Mission Mountain Winery which hosts wine tastings daily during the summer months.
Flathead Lake is the largest natural freshwater lake west of the Mississippi! It is also one of the cleanest lakes in the world. So enjoy the water! Spend your days relaxing on the beach, swimming off the 120 foot level shoreline, jumping off the dock, kayaking to Wildhorse Island, hiking the island, biking, or fishing.
Kayaks and canoes be launched from the shoreline and motorboats or small sailboats can be launched at the access site located next to the property. Dayton Yacht Harbour is located one block from this home. Sailors are welcome to join in the Saturday morning races or participate in the many regattas held on the lake throughout the summer. Somers Bay Yacht Club is only twenty minutes away.
There are numerous golf courses within an easy drive of Dayton and great hiking at Jewell Basin (30 mins). Beautiful Glacier National Park and the National Bison Range are a less than an hour drive away.
In the winter months, Blacktail Ski area, Lakeside, and the Big Mountain, Whitefish, give you the best Montana has to offer in downhill and cross-country skiing all within easy driving distance (45 mins).
