This is a very unique and beautifully rustic first floor lodge type home with 15 ft. high vaulted ceilings. The house was built by a very colorful local lumberman that ran the local saw mill. The lumber for the house was all locally grown and cut. The interior walls and ceilings are all wood. It's mostly all carpeted except the entry and bath. The bathroom has a great four legged tub for soaking and a separate 1/4 round shower.
It has great character. There is a large deck over looking the water at the mouth of the river. The property is located next door to a small marina. It has a boat launch, docks and fishing boats for rent and a small tavern with bar munchies available.
The water is just a few feet deep at the end of the dock and the lake bottom is sand and rock. It's good for the kids to swim, something to wear on your feet in the water is recommended. There is a small fire enclosure for outside fires. It has a gas log stove indoors to cozy up to when its chilly. The deck is large, 15x30 and has a big tree growing up through it.
The dock will hold 2 small boats w/shallow drafts, 17-25 ft. Use of the kayaks and bikes (including a tandem) are included with the house. The flat is large (approx. 1800 sq. ft.)It sits on a small lot, not much lawn. Parking is off street. RVs don't fit well and need special permission please.
We have the best back yard... the Lake, twenty seven miles long and 7 miles wide. The fishing and boating are world class. There are usually no less than five fishing tournaments per year including a Bass Masters on the lake. Winning fish have been caught just off our dock! Walleye Pike, Bass, perch and Bullhead are Large and plentiful. you could even catch a sturgeon if you are lucky.
On the 4th of July the chamber of commerce puts on a very good FIRE WORKS display. The dock provides almost a front row seat for the show or you can go downtown for the festivities. The lodge is just 15 min from Syracuse and it's attractions; the State Fair, the Syracuse Nationals car show, Syracuse Chiefs AAA baseball, the Carousel Mall, Syracuse University Football, Basketball and Rowing, there are no less than 5 gulf courses within 10 min. ride, The lodge is also close to Lake Ontario and the cities of Oswego ( Harbor Fest) and Fulton.
At the other end of the lake there is Sylvan beach and it's amusement park and restaurants and we are only 40 min. to the Turning Stone Casino(they have all the games). To the north is Watertown and Fort Drum, The Saint Lawrence River and the 1000 Island Region. There is Fort Brewerton, a Reproduction of an old French fort in down town Brewerton. there is a working NY state lock just a few miles away by boat or car and the Brewerton International Speedway; a demon dirt track that runs super modified, IMCA's and four cylinder stock cars.
We are across the lake from Oneida Shores county park. They have a great beach, camp grounds and boat launch. During the summer their is a Renaissance Festival only 40 min away. The lodge also has a small book library, a Disney collection for the kids, some board games and a dartboard for indoor time. In the fall the leaves change and can be spectacular to see too!
Shopping is only 5 min away at Wal-Mart and there are two malls close by. There are a few good places to eat out locally and you can get delivery from a couple of pizza places. The house has a 2nd floor owners residence that is not rented out and is reserved for the owners when they are in town. Please call or e-mail us for more information.

Why the Owner Chose Brewerton
We bought this house because we love the area. We are water people. We enjoy being on it, in it, or under it. You can also go every ware in the state pretty much as a day trip from the house. The fall foliage is a spectacular site and In our younger days we even enjoyed the harsh winters the snow belt has to offer up. Stuff like snow skiing, snowmobiling and ice fishing. But warmer climates are calling our name so we head out when the weather turns cold.
The Unique Benefits of this House/Flat
We just love to sit on a dock in the bay and watch the boats roll away, steam rising from the water in the morning almost obscuring the first of the days fishermen as they head to their favorite spot and sip your coffee. It is convenient to the interstate, the airport and shopping. Wal-Mart is 5 min. drive. The biggest back yard around...the lake is 27 miles long and 7 miles wide and its all navigable. It's only a forty five min. flight from NYC.
