Or, you can get in the car and, within 15 minutes, you can ski, watch dancing horses, eat sushi, take a course at the Lake Geneva Cooking School or take a tour of the lake. This is me on the lake path, in early spring. I am standing next to our friendly neighborhood wood spirit. I believe it gives good luck to anyone who pats its nose. One of my favorite things to do is to walk around the lake. Geneva Lake has what we call the Lake Path Law which gives hikers the right to walk in front of the houses (see everything from grand old estates to newer mini mansions) on the lake around the entire lake, 22.8 miles. We walk it in segments year round. You can walk on the lake path from Williams Bay to Fontana in about 1 hour or to the town of Lake Geneva is about 3 hours.
Why the Owner Chose Williams Bay
We bought this beautiful house and renovated it with the intension of selling it in 2007, but the real estate market did not cooperate. So, we have a beautifully finished home in, what we believe, is the best place on Geneva Lake (the town is called Lake Geneva and the lake is called Geneva Lake). Your vacation in Williams Bay can be quiet and restful or as exciting as you want it to be. The following is a sampling of what you can do if you rent our home in Williams Bay: eat at Café Calamari, Gordy’s, Mars, The Village, Gilbert’s, The Hunt Club, Popeye’s, Daddy Maxwell’s; have a drink at Harpoon Willies, The Public House, Chuck’s Lakeshore Inn, Hogs and Kisses, Lucke’s Cantina; go horseback riding at Fantasy Ranch; or you could play golf at Geneva National, Grand Geneva, Hawk’s View, Abbey Springs, Lake Lawn or across the street at the George Williams Golf Course. You can walk to Music on the Lake or visit Yerkes Observatory. There is so much to do that there just isn’t space to name everything. Of course, you can just sit on the beach and watch the clouds roll by.
