Romantic. Elegant, yet casual. Whimsical and fun. The ZEN Treehouse is not your typical vacation rental.
Spacious living areas (over 900 sq.ft.) include a huge open bathroom and kitchen and two big decks. The 14’-high vaulted ceilings sport open-air gables which, while making the loft even bigger, keep you cool and comfy with the ocean breeze. Splashes of Tibet and world art makes for an eclectic mix of east/west, organic/modern. Premium King bed is dressed in Pottery Barn’s Signature 100% Organic Cotton bedding and some of the softest linens we’ve ever felt.
Plentiful double glass doors and banks of large windows will make you feel like you’re right in nature (in a tree, some say), while outdoor decks provide stunning mountain views and shaded dining. The floor in the huge walk-in shower is made of river rock.
When you feel like heading to the beach, you will find the most pristine stretch of white sand beach in Hawaii just a one minute stroll from our front gate.

A few minutes further is Hanauma Bay, the famous underwater nature preserve (make sure to save a morning to snorkel there). Honolulu/Waikiki/airport: 30 minutes. Fun shopping and dining available within walking distance.

I've always liked to travel and explore. As a kid, if I wasn't hiking to, and camping in, places I should not have been, I was riding my bike to everywhere. As an adult, I've continued the tradition of taking off to far away places as often as I can (photo: Ring of Brogar, Scotland).
Why the Owner Chose Waimanalo Beach
Sailed across the entire Pacific Ocean on a 29' sailboat. This took a few years. I saw beaches all along the way, from San Diego/Mexico, through Polynesia to the Great Barrier Reef, many beautiful beaches. I choose to live at Waimanalo Beach because it takes my breath away each and every day, and, living in Hawaii, I can get Ben & Jerry's Cherry Garcia. Can't beat that.

My husband and I were married two years ago and never had a honeymoon. We came to Oahu for a friend's wedding and decided to make the trip a combination visit and honeymoon all in one. We wanted to stay on the quiet side of the island as opposed to the busy, bustling, and crowded Waikiki. We expected the Zen Treehouse to be nice, but it truly exceeded our expectations! A 40 second walk to a quiet beautiful beach, and nestled among a neighborhood of beach homes, the place gave me a wonderful first impression of Hawaii! The kitchen and living room are spacious, tastefully decorated, and comfortable. The high ceilings are so cool and tons of windows allow for the sounds of Hawaiian birds and gentle sea breezes to flow throughout the "treehouse" that makes it a true Zen experience! Not to mention two spacious balconies on opposite sides of the condo. There is a large bathroom with 'his' and 'her' sinks, the counter is spacious, and the shower, which has a window, is made of an attractive travertine material and stone flooring that makes you feel like you're in a tropical paradise. There is a high efficiency washer and dryer for guests to use on the first floor. You get the feeling that the host really cares about her guests. There is welcoming feeling when we first walked up to the pad for the first time. On the kitchen counter was a basket of chocolates, Kona coffee and a assortment of native fruits and a welcome letter with advice on places to go in the area. Friends said that we probably picked one of the nicest vacation pads to stay at on the island. In this fast paced world, it is so nice that you can still go to places like this, that give you that old fashion hospitality feeling. We will definitely be back again! (Review posted on TripAdvisor)
