This vintage Hawaiian cottage with pool is conveniently located across the street from the world-famous turquoise water and powdery sands of Lanikai (heavenly ocean) Beach. You never have to fight for parking and the beach access is literally steps away.
A sparkling pool is situated in the middle of a manicured lawn rimmed by swaying palm trees & native flowers. This tropical garden was landscaped by the former owner who was an agriculture professor. The entire property is lovingly cared for by Daniel, our resident caretaker.
The charming and romantic cottage has 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, living room, dining room, and a well-equipped kitchen. Each bedroom has a queen-sized bed, and there is a full-sized sofa bed in the living room. The cottage can sleep 5 people comfortably (no children under the age of 9). There is a patio table with chairs, and a brand new gas BBQ for outdoor cooking.

Downtown Kailua with it's many restaurants and shopping is only a 5 min drive away. Beautiful Kailua Beach, 2 mins away, is a great place to try bodyboarding, kitesurfing or windsurfing.
Lanikai beach is famous for swimming and snorkeling. One can spot turtles & colorful reef fishes. The twin Mokulua islands just offshore are a short kayak paddle away. Pack a picnic lunch and spend the day exploring the tidepools. The short hike up to the ridge above Lanikai leads to breathtaking views of the windward coast and verdant Ko'olau Mountains. This private oasis is a great place for relaxation and rejuvenation.

Why the Owner Chose Lanikai
Lanikai is arguably the most beautiful beach in all of Hawaii. Nowhere else can you find such soft, white sand, calm aquamarine waters, and two iconic islands just offshore. The extensive coral reef means there are almost no waves to speak of, which is perfect for kayaking, swimming, snorkeling, and spearfishing.
Lanikai is also part of the charming beach town of Kailua, which retains that small-town feel of old Hawaii while also offering all of the conveniences a tourist could want-- ample shopping, a great variety of restaurants, every type of watersport imaginable, golf, hiking, and more, all within a 5 min drive!
Oahu is the most cosmopolitan of the Hawaiian islands, and the state capital of Honolulu is only 30 mins drive. On Oahu you can find interesting historical sites such as Pearl Harbor and Iolani Palace; natural wonders such as Hanauma Bay and big-wave surfing on the North Shore; educational places such as the Waikiki Aquarium, Polynesian Cultural Center, and the Honolulu Zoo; nightlife and entertainment such as dinner cruises and luaus. Yet there is still plenty of undeveloped beauty.

The one drawback of Lanikai Beach is the lack of parking near the beach access points. Luckily, we are right across the street so you never have to fight for parking! Just saunter on over.

The house has been in the family for many years. Mother enjoys swimming in the ocean twice a day-- once in the morning and once in the late afternoon. Father passed away recently and his ashes were scattered on the beach he loved.
