This newer home, offering views of Puget Sound, Mount Rainier, and sunrises, is on a quiet cul-de-sac with close access to our community pool and by trail to the beach. The 2 story house has solid maple floors, a wrap-around covered porch with lots of space for barbequing, outdoor dining, or just relaxing and enjoying the sound, mountain and forest views.
The kitchen and living areas are U-shaped looking out large windows toward mountain and sound views. The kitchen is fully stocked, not only with cookware and utensils, but also with basic staples. It has a gas stove top, electric oven, refrigerator, freezer with ice maker, microwave, toaster, blender, coffee maker, and waffle iron. There is a gas fireplace in the living room along with a combo television, DVD/VCR player and a wide range of DVDs and video tapes. There also is an AM/FM/CD/Cassette Tape player.
The master suite has its own bathroom, a queen size bed, TV with DVD Player and views of the Sound and forest. The second bedroom also has a queen size bed and shares a bathroom with the 3rd bedroom.
The 3rd bedroom has a double bed with a twin trundle bed beneath and a twin bunk above. This room can sleep 3-4 people. There is a queen size wall bed downstairs in the living room/library. A 3rd bathroom is located off the utility room downstairs.
Our home is located in Hartstene Pointe, a gated community with paved roads (15MPH speed limit) that welcome pedestrians and bicyclists. There are over 3 miles of maintained hiking trails through forests and along bluffs with access to the beach that have beautiful views of Puget Sound, Mt. Rainier and the Olympic Mountains. The community has over 3 miles of private beach including a protected lagoon at the north point, covered cooking areas with picnic tables, restrooms, and BBQs. We have 3 tennis courts, 2 next to our clubhouse, and 1 at the north point on the beach. At the clubhouse we also have a pool and hot tub, restrooms and showers.

Year Purchased: 2001
We purchased our lot at Hartstene Pointe in 1976, but only built our house in 2001. It is the shared ownership of 2 brothers. Our kids have been coming here since they were little. They learned to swim in the clubhouse pool. We've all enjoyed walking the beaches, digging clams, taking photos, collecting rocks and shells, playing tennis, hiking the trails and much more. Since we built our 2nd home, we have come to the island as often as we can.
Why the Owner Chose Harstine Island
It is close to many activities we like to do, such as hiking, golfing, visiting nearby parks. It is also fairly close to our main homes. It is a quiet and beautiful get-away from life in town. Coming to our 2nd home always feels like we're on vacation.
The Unique Benefits of this House
We enjoy hiking trails along the bluffs, beach combing, taking photos, watching deer, raccoons, foxes, bald eagles and seals. The clubhouse pool is a nice place to cool down on a warm day. 3 tennis courts are available, 2 at the clubhouse and 1 on the beach. There are lots of places to picnic. There is a marina on site, where boats can be moored for a fee.
