Why the Owner Chose Stone Harbor
My husband and I have been vacationing in Stone Harbor for over 20 years. Stone Harbor is a fantastic destination that offers something for everyone in the family. We enjoy motor-boating, sailing, windsurfing, kayaking and waverunning - all of which we can do right from the dock on our property. My daughter absolutely loves the beach. And, I enjoy window shopping in downtown Stone Harbor.
The Unique Benefits at this House
Our property is on a quiet cul-de-sac road overlooking an expansive marshland in Stone Harbor Manor. I can "almost" guarantee that we have the BEST view of any bayfront property in Stone Harbor. Most other Stone Harbor bayfront homes have views of other properties across the bay. I personally prefer to sip my pina coladas watching the sailboats in the distance and blue herons walking along the waterline. Our home has so much to offer including swimming, fishing, kayaking, and bird watching. We are located across from one of the largest Laughing Gull rookeries in the country, and we have Diamondback Turtles nesting directly in our yard! Town is a 10 minute walk and the beach is a 15 minute walk from the house.
Our favorite beach is "100th Street Beach". Boogie boards allowed. Beach tags required from Memorial Day to Labor Day at all Stone Harbor and Avalon Beaches. Beach tags can be purchased at 95th Stree

This was one of the most relaxing vacations we've ever had. Admittedly, the excellent weather had a lot to do our enjoyment. But Suzanne and her husband have taken great care to provide all the necessary comforts and conveniences in their lovely home. The home was perfect for our family, and my mother-in-law really enjoyed sitting in the shade and enjoying the gulls, egrets, and other seabirds. We were surprised that, this early in the season, it was warm enough that we swam every day right off the floating dock--what a joy! Easy walk into town, great beaches, shops and restaurants, plus safe and easy biking in the area. We will be back!
Owner response:So glad that you enjoyed our summer home! Yes, this is a bird-lover's paradise as the house is situated overlooking the wildlife-filled marsh. In fact, this particular marsh is one of the largest Laughing Gull rookeries in the nation. I'm glad your mother-in-law enjoyed the shade afforded by the backyard awning while still enjoying the view. And, hopefully everyone liked our brand new dock and railings! We look forward to having you next year :)

We were here with son, daughter and two grandsons-plenty of room and the house was nice and on a quiet street with little traffic. The weather was a little warm for fishing from the dock but the crabbing was the best and our grandson pulled in over 20 keepers! The kayaking was also great with easy paddling to a huge back bay. We had a great time and I would recommend this home for anyone looking to be on the water with great access to bayfront activities.

This was the perfect spot for our family vacation. My husband and I are 60, my son and daughter-in-law are in their 30's and have a 4 month old. We brought our 7 year old grandson and 14 year old granddaughter - we all had our needs met and had a wonderfully fun and relaxing week. The house was lovely. Very roomy and comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed. We are all pretty good cooks and had most of our meals at home. The property was really well-maintained and clean. But the real bonus was the location. The pictures on the web site don't do the marsh and dock justice. It was breathtaking and so peaceful. We had all our meals outside and sat on the dock to swim and read in the sun. We rented kayaks for the week that sat on the dock and were ready for us to take a paddle. The house is in a little neighborhood so quiet and yet you are a 10 minute walk into town - which is very nice. Not honky-tonk - nice stores and enough stuff for the kids to do - ice cream, golf, water rides. Also close enough to Wildwood if you want honky tonk and close to Cape May where we went for an afternoon and dinner out - also took the tour. We played golf at Avalon Golf Club - nice and friendly club. The owners were VERY helpful with suggestions and tips. Could not have been nicer. I have already recommended this to friends and family. In the afternoons we packed up and went to the beaches - beautiful and great lifeguards. The ow

Hi Suzanne and Steve, Thanks for a fabulous week!! You have a beautiful home in an INCREDIBLE location. The fenced yard made it feel very safe for my 2 and 4 year old boys to run and play. They LOVED the proximity to the wetlands institute and zoo -- not to mention the beach and multiple ice cream shops!! I highly recommend your rental!!

Stayed for a week last summer with our 3 young kids. Location was perfect. Quiet and private block but a quick walk to the town or beach. Enjoyed the wonderful views of the water and marsh. Enjoyed many meals on back patio and drink on the dock. House accommodated our group of 6 with room to spare. Thanks for a great week.

What a wonderful location, fenced in yard, peaceful, with fantastic views, and easy access to the Stone Harbor beaches. Had a great time off you dock swimming, and launching our kayaks for exploring the wetlands, bays, and intracoastal waterway. We loved your Stone Harbor Manor neighborhood and highly recommend your home for a family vacation.
Owner response:Glad you like our vacation home location and that you had a great time. 2011 UPDATE: We removed the backyard fence in 2011 due to the installation of a new bulkhead, and we will not be re-installing the fence. I hope this does not dissuade families with young children from considering our property.
