Location: Duluth, Minnesota, USA (Located Minutes from Jay Cooke State Park on Hay Lake.)
Accommodations: Log Cabin, 1 Bedroom + Other (See Description), 1 Bath (Sleeps 4)
This cozy log cabin is nestled among soaring basswoods, oaks, and pines, with a view of intimate Hay Lake. There is a queen bed in the master bedroom, and two twin beds in the lower level family room. This cabin provides the perfect get-away for folks who yearn for peace and quiet and would rather paddle a canoe and watch bald eagles soar than race around a busy lake and listen to the whine of personal watercraft. The walleyes are biting--even through the ice--and the bird-watching is top-notch. There are plenty of things to do in the area: visit the nearby Thomson Reservoir or Jay Cooke State Park and enjoy the whitewater or go for a hike; catch a movie, go shopping, or dine in Cloquet or Duluth, just minutes away; or try your luck at nearby Black Bear Casino. Winter is just around the corner, so don't forget there is plenty of cross-country skiing right here on Hay Lake or on the groomed trails of Jay Cooke State Park. Spirit Mountain--about twenty-five minutes way--offers downhill skiing, snowboarding and cross-country skiing.
Bring your skis, ice-fishing gear, and hot cocoa!
