We were so happy to find this pet-friendly property and even happier with our stay there. The cabin itself is perfect for quick, relaxing weekend getaway and the lake and area surrounding are perfect for unwinding.

Perfect Getaway!

This is like our home away from home.We love the quiet time away from the cities and the quick 2-hr drive from the cities. We love going to Jay Cooke State Park which is just minutes away. We also drive to downtown Duluth often. We have attended festivals, gone to dinner, orchestra, dinner cruise on Lake Superior ...the list of things to do goes on and on. Pictures do not do this cabin justice, it is especially beautiful in the fall!! The owners are like friends to us, very easy to work with and accomodating.

Nice

Date of Stay: 06/13/11 Review Submitted: 06/17/11

Besides a pill bug problem in the kitchen, the cabin was clean and ready for us. It's very private with woods surrounding the cabin. To get to the lake you have to walk through a swampy area so bring tall rubber boots as old shoes aren't enough. It was very nice to have the canoe to use but we were hoping for easier access or some type of dock/beach so that we could've enjoyed the lake more. There were a lot of ticks so be sure to do checks a lot and bring tweezers. Every time we came back inside we'd have 3-7 ticks to take off our clothes and bodies. For the price you can find a cabin with a better view of and access to a lake and a few more comforts, but it is a nice location being so close to Jay Cooke State park so overall we thought it was average.

Perfect Little Cabin

Guest: Perfect weekend (Minneapolis, MN)
Date of Stay: 03/18/11 Review Submitted: 03/31/11

The pictures don't do this place justice. We were pleasantly surprised with this cozy log cabin as soon as we opened the door. We loved it. It was just the two of us, but there's plenty of room for two more. We spent an afternoon at the State Park, which is great to have close by. It was a perfect relaxing weekend we needed. Would definitely recommend to friends.
