The property is a great vacation location and the building itself works well for a big group. We loved the porches on each level. There is a significant problem with too many antiques . .they cover all surfaces of the living area. The photos on this site are showing this a bit. We needed to fill several boxes in order to clear the kitchen pantry for our food and clear the dining table. Also, the cleaning service came 5 days before our arrival, with the owners and their dog inhabiting the house until the hour of our arrival, so that our family had to spend the whole first day of vacation cleaning and washing surfaces, appliances and sheets so we could actually occupy the house. That was completely unacceptable and shows that there are significant issues that need to be addressed to make this a recommendable rental destination. This could be a great spot if someone came in to seriously purge the extra clutter, and if the cleaning service was provided access for enough time to wash rugs, woodwork and if they had access to do their work hours instead of days before a renter group arrived. Also we were hassled by the owner about having ceiling fans operating while we were out for dinner, which is unreasonable since there was a major heat wave this week and the house is not provided with AC except for a window unit in one bedroom. 1 parking spot is right outside the door, the other two are several blocks walk away, so be prepared for that as well. Beach access is very close, and we enjoyed our outside time swimming in the lake and evening porch time.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1
