The apartment of approximately 55 sqm is located on the 2th floor of a restored Belle Epoque building with intercom system. The building is a few blocks from the Place Masséna and the Old Town, in the heart of Nice. This building was built in 1905, the beginning of the 20 century that made it a HISTORICAL ARCHITECTURAL BUILDING.The mayor of Nice try to maintain and keep closely the beauty of that kind of old and ancestral building with his architecture french and italian style. Those kind of old building are the treasure of NICE like Negresco.
You enter the apartment through a large hallway leading to the bedroom, which is on your left hand side, and to the living area on your right. It's equipped with air-conditioning and we have also the soundproof windows that we just renovate and will allow you to relax at home without any External sound. Not every appartment have that kind of windows that are essential in the centre of Nice or in the old town.
The living room is furnished with a sofa, a lounge table, a desk, and three chairs. A Round terasse offers a wonderful view over the city and the surrounding mountain. You can eat from that terasse winter as summer and you will have the wonderful view of everything.
That kind of terrasse is a old style of architecture call une "rotonde" from 1905.
The open kitchen is equipped with electric induction hotplates, a grill oven, a refrigerator / freezer, a toaster, a kettle and a coffee maker. There is also a window facing the mountains.
The bedroom has a French window opening onto a balcony and overlooking the city. The bedroom is furnished with a double size bed and has a large built-in mirrored closet.
The bathroom has a shower, a sink with mirror and water closet.
The apartment is located two streets from the Galeries Lafayette and Place Masséna, and five minutes walk from the sea and the Old Town. The "Vieux Nice" contains a treasure-trove of Baroque art from the 17th and 18th centuries. There are many churches among the narrow streets of this fascinating and timeless district of Nice. All the shops, restaurant and cafés are nearby. Bakeries, groceries, dry-cleaners - you are in one of the French largest cities and everything is within reach.
Nice, nestled amidst hills and tucked into the unrivalled setting of the "Baie des Anges", is famous for its liveliness and its dynamism. It is also, after Paris, the city that boasts the higher number of Museums in France ; among others, the Chagall Museum and the Matisse Museum. But Nice is also a real melting pot : the city has preserved numerous traces of its eventful past and the diversity of its architecture shows how numerous were the worldwide influences.
The Nice train station is served by the high-speed TGV (the "Train Grande Vitesse," only five hours from Paris). The international airport (Nice-Côte d'Azur), has been built on land reclaimed on the sea, and offers daily flights to/from New York. Otherwise most international flight connections are made through Paris. With a car, Italy is only 20-30 minutes away.

After deciding against staying at a hotel for our 2 week vacation, my husband & I looked for an apartment & fell in love with the architecture of the building & neighbourhood. The apartment was clean, modern, very spacious by European standards & comfortable. The kitchen was fully functional with high-end appliances for the meals we made. The washer/dryer was very convenient. We brought our own clothes line to hang laundry, which dried VERY quickly. (Owner might consider providing a drying rack to hang laundry.) The bathroom had a large medicine cabinet to unpack toiletteries & a great shower. The modern windows really cut down on the street noise & we slept well. The wi-fi & internet phone were appreciated. The apartment was so close to everything that we could stop back to drop off our shopping, rest or freshen up before heading out to another part of town. We were able to walk everywhere. The owner was also very kind & helpful to point out city highlights on our arrival & was available by phone if we needed to call. We hope to return & rent from this owner again.

To say that we were disappointed with the apartment is an understatement. The bones are great with marble floors, high ceilings, modern kitchen, terrific bath and great location...but that's as good as it gets. We stayed in the apartment for six weeks and found it lacking even the most basic necessities. There were no drinking glasses, wine glasses, functioning wine opener, kitchen storage containers, cutting knives and on an on. The one teflon pan and one teflon pot were scraped up and looked they were 20 years old, all of the dishes were chipped, the large living room was furnished with one cheap (and uncomfortable) folding futon style bed/sofa, a coffee table and two dining style chairs, bath towels and sheets were mismatched and very old. We spent the first few days buying the basics, which the owner said she would pay us back for after the second time we brought it up. We would have rather she quickly responded to our concern directly instead of leaving it on us to search out a large store 15 minutes away by car. The most disappointing thing to discover upon our arrival was that the bed which was advertised as a Queen and which we confirmed by email as an American Queen size bed, turned out to be a double. Considering that the main reason we chose the apartment was for the large bed, it was not a great thing to discover after traveling for 24 hours. To the owner's benefit, she did offer us a very small credit for the mixup. However we notice six weeks later that the incorrect size remains on this advertisement which really feels strongly of false advertising. If the owner had spent as little as 5% to 10% of the rent we paid for our 6 week rental on equipment and supplies, our experience would have been significantly better. We own two vacation rental properties ourselves, one in Palm Springs and one in Buenos Aires. We go to great lengths to anticipate every need our clients may have, and furnish both places with items that are not damaged or past their useful life. We only wish the owner of this apartment would do the same so that we could have written a better review and recommended it to our friends as once again the location was great and the property itself was nice. By the way one last thing, if you have a car forget about the "off street parking", it is close to impossible to find a parking spot nearby.
Owner response:I apologize for the inconvenience in my apartment but I rectified and improved everything which was bothering you as I want my renters to be happy and have a great time in Nice. Now, I can say that everything is perfect. Thank you for your input.

This apartment is one of the best deals in Nice! We shopped around a good bit, looking at hotels and other apartments and this one was far superior AND less expensive. All the appliances, marble, paint is new and everything is kept extremely clean. Great balcony and breakfast nook for looking out over Nice. The owners were friendly and helpful and there was a free phone line back to the states and WIFI. We will go back for sure. We rented a car just know that parking on the street can sometimes be difficult, but as long as you move it before 9 a.m. the French traffic patrol is very slow to ticket. It's free after 6 pm.

My husband and I stayed in the apartment for two weeks and enjoyed every moment of it. The apartment was very well-maintained and close to every important place including the direct Airport bus. The owner was a real professional. She was very helpful and answered our problems and questions immediately. She had a very good taste and one could see her personal touch in the apartment everywhere. I highly recommend this place for even a longer stay. Elizabeth Vancouver, Canada

I stayed in this apartment for one week in August 2010 and would highly recommend it to anyone travelling to Nice or the south of France. I felt very safe in the neighborhood and in the building. The location is excellent - close to the Massena, the old town, the beach and within easy walking distance to the tram or right to the Nice Ville train station. The listing description and photos are entirely accurate and I think it could quite possibly have the best shower/water pressure in Europe :). It's also the perfect place to use as a base if you plan on day tripping to other towns along the coast. The only thing to be aware of is that there is a steep marble staircase that you must carry your luggage up but this is fairly typical of any apartment in Europe without a lift. I would definitely stay in this apartment again and highly recommend it.

This apartment worked beautifully for our family (2 adults & 2 children). The apartment has a great kitchen equipped with new modern appliances - including washer/dryer. Bathroom was nicely done with a great shower. Big bonus - internet access and international calling!! The entire apartment was very clean. It is located within walking distance to everything. It was very easy to get to both the bus and train station. Pack light...you'll need to carry luggage up stairs. I would without hesitation stay in this apartment again. I have already recommended it to a few friends of mine. The owner was very kind and concerned that we had everything needed to make our stay enjoyable.
