Bring the family or a group of friends, great fishing on Big Portage - Plenty of Walleyes, Crappies, Northern, and Perch. Roast s'mors over the bonfire, watch the northern lights, walk, rollerblade or bike on the Paul Bunyan Trail, or listen to the call of the loon. The possibilities are endless at this 2 bedroom/1 bath home nestled on the shore of Big Portage Lake. Even on the occasional rainy day, play board games, watch DVD's, relax with by the fire place, or prepare a meal in the fully furnished deluxe kitchen.
Drive 20 minutes to Walker to shop or visit the casino, only 10 minutes to Hackensack or 40 minutes to the Brainerd Area and all the excellent restaurants, galleries, and shops.
Many fishing events, Moondance or Northern Lights Casino events allow you a wonderful place to come home too.
The woods and waters around Big Portage Lake offer great swimming, hiking, biking, stream and lake fishing. Great Central launch point to fish Leech Lake, Gull Lake, Pine Mountain, Woman Lake, etc. Fish all the great lakes through out your stay!! Trophy fish one day and limit the next!!
The Big Portage Lake Retreat is your home away from home. It is the perfect place to get away from it all. The house is fully furnished-just bring your food and beverages and be ready to kick back. You won't be disappointed!!!
And when you forget that ketchup, steak for the grill, heck maybe you need a new fishing rod or need a pair of hiking boots. Godfrey's has it all and their less than 5 miles down the road!!
Bring the four wheelers and ride the Awesome Trails. Don't forget the boat - with all the endless great fishing lakes and most of all bring the willingness to enjoy the true tranquility of being up NORTH!!
Plenty of Yard for horseshoes, bocce ball and all the other fun yard games.
2 bedrooms - One room has a Queen Bed. The other room is our community bedroom - bunk bed with a queen on the bottom and twin on top. Then we have two single beds on the opposite walls. Sleeps 7 comfortable!!
Believe me it's comfortable. We keep the cabin very clean!!

The location of the cabin is priceless. We love the lot - true privacy. It's a great central location for us to fish many of the great lakes in the area. We can enjoy Nisswa one day and Leech Lake Area the next.
