Owner's Profile
Owner Description
Year Purchased: 2004
This is Leshia and myself standing in the front yard of the cabin in March of 2008, a snow storm came through the evening before and left 14" of snow. We had no power for three days but we were self sufficient as we had a gas grill and a gas fireplace that we cooked our meals on. It was one the most memorable and fun trips we have ever had
Why the Owner Chose Mountain View
Beautiful area, great fishing, music on the square. We've had been coming to Mountian View for over 15 years before we decided to build our dream cabin on the mountain. We purchased the land and I spent about 6 months designing the cabin that would fit just right on that lot. Almost everything the house is built from came from the area, so the cabin fits right in with the natural surroundings.
The Unique Benefits of this Cabin
Great cave nearby, music shows, fishing, hunting, hiking, mountain biking and river rafting close by. You can relax in the Jacuzzi or take an invigorating shower in the twin head, slate walk in shower. Copper sinks in kitchen and master bath, copper utensils and a copper counter top make your stay at Twin Pine a memorable one.

Nice deck & view. Quiet. Watched bald eagles and hawks from the porch. This is a family's vacation home, so there are many personal things (photos, toiletries, etc) around. Property is 5 years old, so the house itself is pretty new and well-maintained. Heat, hot water, etc work very well. Amount of decor can be overwhelming and covered every surface, so had to move things around to actually have usable space. Made us a little uncomfortable moving their things around, but it was necessary to eat or play games. Expected some things to be cleaner, but it wasn't filthy by any stretch. Enjoyed mountain biking, hiking, Blanchard Caverns, Yoder's Cupboard, the Dulcimer Shop, caught trout at Mirror Lake. Can recommend food at PJ's Rainbow Cafe - was delicious from scratch home cookin'. Overall, was a very nice week, owner was friendly and helpful. The price matched the quality and amenities.

What a beautiful cabin! We had a wonderful time here! The back deck view was fantastic, as was the outdoor fireplace!! It was also beautifully furnished with everything we needed. We didn't want to leave! Thank you for sharing this wonderful cabin with us. For a weekly rental, would we be able to use the washer and dryer? That was the only downside, as we fished one day and would have liked to have washed our clothes. Thank you, and we will be back!!

Quiet and comfortable surroundings with an unbeatable view. We watched the clouds roll in over the hills and down the valleys early the first morning. The cabin was spacious and clean with all the conveniences of home. We celebrated my parents' 35th wedding anniversary here and they loved it. My father prefers it over my in-laws' cabin down in the valley, right on the river. I strongly recommend this cabin to anyone looking to get off the beaten path and waking up to a wall of windows with nothing but beautiful views.

What a wonderful place to stay! Everything you could possibly need is in the cabin. The beds are very comfortable and the view is amazing! We love the decor, also. It's a beautiful place and very clean. It's so much fun to go to the park on weekend evenings to listen to the bluegrass music. We loved the Folk Art Center and Blanchard Caverns. There are lots of good places to eat in the area, also. You have to visit Twin Pines Lodge!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Twin Pines. The house is cozy and the view is great! Our only complaint was that we couldn't get the DVD players to work to watch the 2 movies we rented (there weren't any instructions). We also had difficulties with the 2 fireplaces (there weren't good instructions for those either), but the owner showed up and got it going for us and showed us how to use them. Minor issues and certainly didn't interfere with our vacation. It's a great location for day trips. If you stay here, be sure to take the twisty road up to Melbourne - great views! Eat at "Keeping it Simple" restaurant next to the hardware store - GREAT food and very friendly people!

Like the owners of this Home, we have been coming to Mt. View for over 10 years. We love the relaxed pace of the town and its surrounding activities. Mellon"s Country Store is a definite MUST! This Vacation Home is everything it's description says and MORE! The Yellow Pine interior is beautiful and the layout of the Home is perfect for a family with kids or multiple couples. We booked it on a spur of the moment "get away". Since it was a late booking, we didn't expect to get "top of the line" accomodations. WOW! We were so lucky!! A family had been staying there for a week and had just left. The owners were so accomodating prepareing it for us. Beautiful view of the Sunset. We will definitely book again. You don't need to bring anything but yourselves! The rest is provided!!

Very quiet setting and great for relaxation. There were only two of us but house would be great for a family or 2 to 3 couples. Loved everything about the house but especially the 5 ft. jacuzzi tub. Stopped at a Whole Foods in Little Rock for groceries and cooked most of the meals in the house. Fell in love with the people and town of Mountain View, don't miss Jimmy Driftwood Barn for great local music on Friday and Sunday evening. Plenty of outside activities in the area (hiking, fishing, caves, etc.) Would definitely recommend this place and would love to go back some time.

We spent a weekend at the Twin Pines Lodge with quite a large group of friends and really enjoyed our time there. Very roomy and comfortable, and the kitchen is great for cooking! Thanks so much for providing all the little things that made us feel at home. My husband and I definitely plan to come back.
