Accommodations: Condo, 1 Bedroom + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath (Sleeps 4)
Keywords: Condominium
Our piece of paradise is a peaceful one bedroom with soaring ceilings in the main living area on the top floor of building 38. It comfortably sleeps 4 with a new king size bed in the bedroom and a new queen mattress and folding mechanism in the living room hide-a-bed. Wake to a chorus of tropical birds singing each morning after a restful night's sleep. The expansive view overlooks the beautiful, historic Moir Cactus Garden and beyond you get a glimpse the ocean. We enjoy quiet dinners for two with gorgeous sunsets or read and nap on the lounge chairs from the privacy of our lanai.
We recently remodeled the bathroom, reupholstered the living room, replaced the carpet throughout and updated the appliances in the kitchen. We’ve added our touches to the décor with new wall hangings in the dining room. Our near future plans have us refurbishing and replacing the cabinets and counter tops in the kitchen, and purchasing new lamps in the living room and bedroom. We want our condo to be a home away from home and comfortable for everyone who visits.
The Kiahuna Plantation is set on 35 acres of lush green grass with beautiful swaying palm trees, exotic flowers and koi ponds. The orchid garden next to the Moir Plantation house is home to hundreds of orchid plants that are always blooming. Enjoy dinner at the Plantation Garden Restaurant on the lanai over looking the garden. Our condo is a short walk to the activities hut where you can pick up complementary towels and beach chairs. Spend your time relaxing on the grass under the palm trees or down on the beach while watching and listening to the surf roll in. Many enjoy the pool and tennis courts available to our guests at the Kiahuna Pool and Tennis club.
Poipu is a Kauai destination that has everything you need for a relaxing vacation. On the sunny side of the island, Poipu is home to many fine dining and casual restaurants as well as shops to satisfy all needs and desires. There are two golf courses with in minutes of the Kiahuna Plantation. You can hike along the cliffs near the Hyatt Regency, explore the wonderful neighborhoods or walk the beautiful sandy beach. A successful trip for us is spotting whales, honu (turtles) and dolphins in the water off the Poipu coast.
If you find yourself needing more adventure, you can head to the Waimea Canyon for hiking or 4 wheel drive fun. Other adventures on the island include zip line tours, horseback riding, more award winning golf courses and many hiking adventures either in the canyon, in a tropical forest, or on the Napali coast.

Why the Owner Chose Kiahuna Plantation
Our trips to Kauai have been many, but we always stay at the beautiful Kiahuna. We've stayed in many units on the Kiahuna Plantation but always loved the view from our first condo on the top floor of building 38. After we decided to purchase a condo, the Kiahuna was the only place for us and when we found unit 316, two doors down from our first stay, it was an easy decision. We've been very happy here and plan to keep our Kauai home for many years.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo
The Kiahuna Plantation is the only condominium complex on Poipu beach. You can pick up a complimentary use towel and chair at the beach hut and sit under the palms or down on the beach with in minutes from all the condos. The beach is sandy and easy to get in and out of the water. The lawns and gardens are large and flowing and easily the most beautiful in Poipu. The Plantation is quiet except for the multitude of birds sing to you.
Owner's Map of Kiahuna Plantation
John and I fell in love with Kauai and the Kiahuna Plantation about 10 years ago while vacationing in Spring with our children. We all loved the beach, the grounds, the pool and the peace. Now that we have our beautiful condo, John and I try to get here as often as possible. Last Christmas, we brought our grown kids and had as much fun as the first trip. All have enjoyed this magical place for many years and plan to for many more.

An Amazing Babymoon!

My girlfriend and I wanted to get away together before we have our baby boy in April. Neither one of us had been to Hawaii before, but heard Kauai was where to be. Well, there are so many places to choose from to stay... and I'm so glad we decided to stay here. It exceeded all our expectations. It was bigger and more beautiful than we could have imagined. The view, indeed is expansive, and beautiful. We enjoyed the full kitchen by making many of our meals there... and I got to have my daily tea using the coffee pot. With the slatted windows/back doors, the cross-breeze (especially at night) was SOOO delightful. Leslie was very responsive... aiding me through the transaction, getting the internet going, and answering any further questions we had. Kiahuna plantation itself was also stunning. We went to a few beaches on the island, and we liked the one at kiahuna the best. The snorkeling was amazing, including 2 monk seals and 2 big green sea turtles! We loved it so much, we're considering having our wedding there... only time will tell. Thanks for everything Leslie!
Owner response:Aloha David, Thank you for your kind words. It is people like you that make renting our condo a joy. I'm impressed you saw two turtles on the beach. You are always welcome to return. Enjoy your little one, they grow way too fast! Mahalo for your review, Leslie and John

Excellent location for exploring the south amd west coast of Kauai

The Kiahuna Plantation Resort offers good amenities, including a beach, and is in a good location for exploring south and west Kauai. Our stay was outstanding with a clean partially renovated one bedroom condo offering a large lani with a beatiful garden view. The property offers easy beach access and is located across the street from the Poipu Shopping Centre, be sure to try the Puka Dogs located in the mall. Both restuarants on the property, Plantation Garden Restaurant and Casablancas were very good. If you stay here be sure to drive to Hahapepe and eat at the Hanapepe Cafe and Bakery. Old Koloa Town, a five minute drive north, has a number of restaurants and also has two grocery stores we found the store at the end of town the best, think it is called Big Times. This resort offers a large very well maintained grounds area with ponds and direct beach access. We hope to visit again very soon.
Owner response:Aloha and thank you for the review. I"m so glad you enjoyed the Kiahuna Plantation. We hope to renovate the kitchen soon. The bath was complete in 2007 and the kitchen is next in line. Please consider staying with us on a return visit. Mahalo, Leslie and John

great condo + location, bummer neighbors

My husband and I found this condo's location to be great. The lanai overlooks the garden, and you can see the ocean through the trees! It's a short <2 minute walk to the beach, and a short <5 minute walk to the Poipu Village Shopping Center. The lanai is best in the morning to use for breakfast, but gets a bit hot in the direct sunlight in the afternoon (no biggie though, since it's better to be at the beach, watching the sunset :) ) The bed was comfortable, and the newly remodeled bathroom is really nice. The kitchen is a bit dated, but it does the job just fine! The couch is incredibly firm, making it not-so-comfortable, but we fixed that by pulling out the sofa bed and sitting on that instead to watch a movie! The only bummer about this place is the fact that we had inconsiderate neighbors...slamming the door at all hours of the day and night, stomping around (even though this unit is top-floor, you can still hear stomping). That is not the fault of this unit whatsoever...it's more related to the design of the complex since it is, by nature, plantation style - you can't fully close any windows, but at the same time, you wouldn't want to since they let the nice island breeze in. Overall, I would probably stay in this unit again!
Owner response:I'm sorry to hear of your bummer neighbors during your stay. One of the reasons we chose to purchase a top floor unit was because there is one less neighbor to worry about (and the gorgeous view). Unfortunately, we can't control the use of the condos around us, I wish I could. :) We hope you will consider staying with us again when the neighbors are quieter. Mahalo for the review and your stay.

Great condo at Kiahuna Plantation

This is the 2nd time we've stayed at the Kiahuna Plantation resort with our now 3 year old daughter. We ended up picking the same building/floor this time around since we had such a great experience in another condo in the same building floor 2 years ago. Well we had another great stay and couldn't have been happier. This floor/building looks out onto a great garden and you can get a peak of the ocean. This specific unit was great - bathroom was redone and furniture was in good shape. The kitchen is on the older side but it works just fine. You won't be disappointed staying here!
Owner response:Aloha Ryan and Krista, I'm so glad you enjoyed your stay in our top floor condo and the view it provides. Your kind words are really appreciated. Mahalo, John and Leslie

Perfect getaway location

My husband and I stayed here for a week in May and we had a wonderful experience. Based on the property map, we at first had concerns that the condo location might be too far away from the beach and amenities. And, we feared it was too close to the main road and traffic noise. But, when we arrived we discovered the condo is in the perfect location and just what we wanted! You have a beautiful view from the lanai of the cactus garden (and a peek of the ocean) plus no other buildings in front of you like the other condos. Plus, the only noise you hear is the bird songs from the nearby cactus garden. It's a very private location if this is what you are looking for! Inside the condo is nice as well and the property is well maintained and clean. While the decor is fairly plain and traditional, the bathroom has been updated and is a decent size. The kitchen is a little older but it does the trick for making breakfast or lunch (we ended up eating out most nights for dinner). If we return to Kauai, we'd have no hesitation renting this condo again!
Owner response:Aloha Rebeca and Greg, I'm pleased you enjoyed the condo location and the view. It really is a very quiet location for couples looking for a private get away. We too enjoy the birds wonderful songs when we are there. I hope you will consider staing with us on your next visit to beautiful Kauai. Thank you, Leslie and John

What a wonderful relaxing place. I enjoyed waking up in the morning to the sounds of the birds. We had wonderful meals within walking distance. The beach was great, enjoyed some wonderful hikes, local events and beautiful sunsets. The condo is very clean and has everything you need. Bed was very comfortable, the tub was wonderful for soaking in after a day on activities, relaxing on the lanai, cooking great meals – this unit provides it all. The grounds are so beautiful, great place to take photos. We hope to return again soon and have passed information to our friends and family.
Owner response:Aloha. I'm pleased you enjoyed the condo. I too enjoy soaking in the deep tub; the remodel was the first thing we did when we purchased! Thank you for recommending our unit to your friends and family. Please consider staying with us on your next visit to Poipu. Mahalo, Leslie
