This Historical Spanish house was built in the 40's. Very cozy and quaint with hardwood floors throughout, formal dining, front porch with morning sunlight, large rear covered patio with ping pong table and huge deck w/panoramic 360 degree city, hill, nightlight, ocean, sunrise & sunset views. This home is unique in that it sits at the top of the "pier-bowl" as we call it so the house is well oriented with both north-east and south-west facing views.
Small side yard and fenced for pets although small ones may require additional barriers. Extra parking in driveway with room for at least 3 if not 4 cars. Excellent location within minutes of the sandy beach or downtown.
This home is very close to the pier, within 1.5 blocks and up the hill to shopping, community center & library.
In the master bedroom there is a queen bed, the 2nd bedroom sleeps three, there is a trundle (2 beds one under the other pulls out) and another twin, the living room also sleeps three, there is a hideabed (full) and a twin size loveseat and in the rear studio there are bunk beds. Upstairs on the panoramic view deck is a double lounge chair which is great for night star gazing or sunbathing.....

Historical Hacienda in the "Heart of San Clemente"
Year Purchased: 1993
Why the Owner Chose San Clemente
I love the small town atmosphere San Clemente has. It is truly a local community with lot's of involvement towards development and local events/fundraisers. There are famous surfing beaches here such as "trestles" and Sano's....
The Unique Benefits at this House
Just up the street we have a weekly Farmer's market. This is the center of town, with lots of shopping, restaurants, the library and the community center. The house is located close to the pier & beach as well as the shops on Del Mar....
Just 1.5 blocks down the hill to the pier you will find surfing, swimming, fishing, shopping and dining..... and White Water Realty, Inc. established in 1973, specializing in beach oriented property..
You can bring your dogs to this park, about two blocks away...just off Linda Lane
Where the bridge is, just south of the pier is another great surf & swim beach....
The is the "heart" of San Clemente. Every Sunday there's a Farmers Market, once a month more exhibits & shopping for arts and craft's.
Presently this property is on the market for just under 10Mil....It's a beautiful Historical home and used to be President Nixon's beach home
Owner's Map of San Clemente
I love San Clemente. I grew up in Los Angeles area and San Clemente and have lived and worked here since 1973. There are many things to do within minutes that can range from just sitting on the beach reading a book to taking the train to San Diego & Sea World, to going out deep sea fishing or shopping at the local shops. Every Sunday there is a farmer's market with lots of fresh organic fruits and veggies. There's evening art shows and entertainment on Avenida Del Mar which is within walking distance. Concerts on the beach regularly in the Summer are fun for everyone. San Clemente - Southern California's Best Kept Secret - LIVE IT - LOVE IT!

I have been in touch with the owner and she assures me that the lighting issues I complained about have been fixed. She reimbursed me my out of pocket expense and offered generous terms should I wish to rent from her again. I feel confident that she would make every effort to make a future visit more comfortable for us.

Renter Beware

Unless you are a group of twenty somethings, or a family on a tight budget, and cleanliness, good mattresses, and lights that work don't matter that much to you, I would steer clear of this rental. After one night on the master bedroom's mattress, my brother and sister-in-law moved out to a hotel because of back and neck pain. The roof deck, which you use at your own risk, had furniture too filthy to sit down on. Burned out lights and switches that didn't work meant that ping pong games were confined to daylight hours and in order to grill, one needed a miner's headlamp. The grill, in fact, had an empty propane tank and although the owner promised to reimburse us for the one we bought (and left for future guests), she never did. The rent is very reasonable but we found out why. Beware the description "historic". It just means dumpy and rundown.
